Tips
some useful tips on enjoying the city life...
During the day, business and tourist areas of New York City are
generally safe. While walking during the day on the streets or in Central Park, visitors
should stay in well-trafficked areas. Guard against pickpockets and purse-snatchers in
crowded tourist areas, such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Broadway theater
district. Keep your wallet in your front pocket, and a hand on your purse. At night, taxis
are the safest way to get around the city. Avoid walking through Central Park at night.
If you plan on driving into the Big Apple, be prepared to take a test
against your driving skills. Never double park on city streets. It causes traffic jams and
you may pay a hefty fine or possible impoundment. Also try not to "block the
box". It causes gridlock like no other city in the world ! And last becareful of the
taxi drivers. If you ever took a ride in one, you'll know what I mean !
