I was Lost but now I'm found....
It began friday night - Dec. 31, 1999. HAPPY NEW YEAR !!
A pleasant night out for a cat who loves to wander and explore. Which I enjoy doing. So why should tonight have been any different? It wasn't until after the new year rang in that I found myself in a not so familar area. My parents weren't expecting me, for at least another couple of hours. Little did they know, that I wasn't coming home in the wee hours of the night begging to come in.
I've been known to go off on long week-ends from time to time, so when I didn't show up on Saturday, Jan 1st, 2000 my parents were not too worried. Sunday came and went, and no Milo. But when Monday night came, they started to worry (at least I think so - no I'm sure they did) Well, mom and dad started asking the neighbors if they had seen me. And because I'm such a neighborly cat, they all knew me, and said they hadn't seen me since last friday.
They combed the area, and I was no where to be found. By the following monday, calls were placed to the local animal shelters, and veternary offices. No one had seen me. I was missing. Every week, my parents called and called hoping to find me. By now, they were trying to cope with the idea that I might never be found.
The first week of February had arrived. And they were begining to think that I was gone for good. When a friend told them about the local animal rescue organization "PAWS" had aired it's program, and had showed an "orange tabby" up for adoption. They were excited, yet they didn't want to get thier hopes up. So calls were placed and messages were left.
A return message confirmed they had two orange tabbies that were brought in, but it turned out they weren't me. Then another call came in. The volunteer at the organization wanted to know more about me. It turned out that I was there but had to be placed in a foster home, because I was sooooo vocal, I was disrupting the other cats. (Me? disruptive?) Yeah, that sounds like Milo, my dad told them. It turned out that the "orange tabby" they named "Tookay" was in fact "Milo"
My parents had to wait 3 days before they could actually come and see me. But when that day came - February 5th - what a joyous reunion that was...for me of course, I wanted to go home! My parents still really don't know what happen but I can tell they are very happy to have me back. And I'm happy to be back!
My parents and I would like to thank "PAWS" (Pet Animal Wefare Society) and the loving foster family for putting up with me all that time...cause my parents know how difficult and persistant I can be, when I don't get my way. We would also like to thank all our friends and family for taking the time to look out for me...if it weren't for them, I wouldn't be here to tell this adventure.
Thanks for stopping by and visiting with me. Come back soon!! Don't forget to check out my other pages as well.
