Autolite 2100 Carburetor (2)
continued
Jets, Sizes 48F and 54F

Since main jets are replaceable, its size does not necessarily determine carb's matching engine size. Stock 302 carbs came with 48F jets while all other engines (351/390/429) except for manual transmission 351 came with larger 54F jets. Manual 351s came with 56F jets, as does my Mach I, which means it is probably getting a richer mixture than stock.
Booster Venturis and Air Distribution Plate

Although the diameters of the Booster Venturis between the 302 and 351 carbs are identical, their inlet sizes are different, the 302 ones being smaller. The red arrows point to the inlets of the 302 carb, which has a smaller diameter (note the brass fitting on the right inlet). For 351/390/429 carbs, their differences are more subtle as the inlet diameters for idle circuitries and power circuitries are different. You should be wary of medium speed acceleration problems if you are interchanging 351/390/429 as the power jets are not externally adjustable. The 302 carb came with the air distribution plate (more details on it next page).
