Ball Diff-improves the stability of the car in the corner, it enables
almost all the power to the ground, i.e if one of the rear wheels
is off the ground, the ball diff would act as a solid axle (depending
on how loose you set the diff) and transfers the driving power to
the other wheel.
A ball diff can also aid the setup of your car. If your car has
too much oversteer, that means the ball diff is set too stiff, loosen
the ball diff to gain more stability and traction.

Tie rod set 0, +1, -1 gives you different steering responses.
0 - neturel response.
+1 ( toe-in ) - slower response when getting in turns but faster
getting out from turns. It'll make your car running more stable
& straight on straight road.
-1 ( toe-out )- like rally car set up, faster response when getting
in turns but slower getting out of turns.

Tires
The lower compound number of the tire, the softer compoud which
means better traction and vice versa for higher numbers
*Note lower number tires wear down faster.
Foam tires maximize traction on most surfaces. However, they can
be too much and cause your car to roll if the surface is already
pretty grippy.
Radial rubber tires which look really cool, tend to have a little
less traction than slick tires due to the reduced amount of rubber
actually touching the ground

*Note I have a set of Kyosho bearings and they are excellent. I
also have a set of no name brand bearing(made in Hong Kong) for
my other car, they are crap!
