God gives everybody the gift of prayer. Of course, you
have to accept this gift and use it faithfully. And you have to keep learning
how to pray.
"Teach us how to pray," the disciples said to Jesus.
(Luke 11, 1) He answered by teaching them the prayer we call the
Our Father or The Lord's Prayer.
The Lord's Prayer is a basic Christian prayer. As a model of prayer, every
Christian learns it by heart. It appears everywhere in the church's life:
in its liturgy and sacraments, in public and private prayer.
It’s a prayer Christian’s treasure.
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power,
and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen.
