The Hatching Grounds

"Excuse me..." You tug on the sleeve of a passing dragoner. "Could you tell me where..."

"The Hatching Grounds are? Of course!" He grins widely, then gestures to a narrow passage to the left. "Ground entrance is small, t'keep Weirbrats from getting to close to the eggs afore their time. Don't figure a guest would be too much trouble, though... just don't touch anything!"

"I wont," you assure him, then duck through. It's dark in the tunnel, despite glowlights spaced every three feet or so. After a while, the floor begins to slope up and the tunnel becomes lighter. Seconds later, you come around a bend and find yourself a mere dragon's paw from the eggs. Opaline shells glint softly in the light from above...
