A Prayer to Bast

Pitter patter of little feet,
I pray to Bast my soul to keep.
If I die within my house,
I hope I got that little mouse!
Catnip, yarn, milk and naps,
may humans always provide us laps.
Oh Bast hear my call!
(You always do when I fall.)
Beautiful Bast, purr me to sleep,
for you, a dead bird at your feet!
Meow.(translation: A-men)
May the gates of Cat-Heaven
let me in and out,
in and out, in and out,
in and ............
