Graphic Tips
Last Updated 1/5/99

These are a few of the tips I've found most useful.
When using graphics, include the dimensions. With the dimensions, the browser first blocks out the required space, lays out the document, displays the text, and then loads the graphics. This means the people viewing your page will have something to read while the images load!
img src="image.gif" width=0 height=0
When using a graphic as a link, if you don't want a border around it, make sure you include border=0.

You don't always have to use hexadecimal codes for your colors. HTML recognizes, at least, these nineteen colors by name!
(If you know of, or discover, more, please let me know.)
aqua black blue brown fuchsia gray green lime maroon
navy olive
orange pink purple red silver teal white yellow
I just found out that the above list of colors is "just the tip of the iceberg!" Here is a table that lists
140 HTML color names and codes!
You've got to take a look!!
If you still need a hexadecimal color chart, here's a link to the one I usually used!
RGB Hex Triplet Color Chart
And here's one provided by Geocities I just discovered. It's pretty cool!
(Note: Your browser must be Netscape 3 compatible or higher).
Color codes for the 216 Netscape colors.
