And so begins the first day of the rest of my life.
At approximately 5:10 this morning I woke up, looked at
my clock and slapped myself for getting up before the
alarm went off. I hate that! I feel like I'm being
cheated of sleep, even if it is only a few minutes. I
had the alarm set for 5:20 so I lay in bed those extra
ten minutes and stretched, keeping my eyes open or I
knew I'd fall back asleep. Finally the alarm went off,
radio blaring, and I jumped out of bed. The first thing
I heard was "make sure you wear a hat before walking out
today. Freezing temperatures are expected for most of
the day." Yuck. I was so warm and cozy in my bed and
now I had to go face the excruciatingly painful freezing
wind hitting me when I walked out. Blah.
So anywho, after slapping cold water on my face (I
couldn't/didn't want to wait for it to warm up) I got to
movin' & groovin' Richard Simmons style. Except I
didn't play oldies songs, and I didn't wear a funky
outfit or a sweatband. I basically put on the first
thing I saw (or didn't see because a. I wasn't wearing
my contacts and b. the lights were off) and started
moving. I did play some music (Dixie Chicks) so I
wouldn't bore myself to death. And it worked. Twenty
minutes later I was sweating like an eskimo in a sauna.
Woo! It was great!
So that's about it. First morning workout done and only
thirty-thousand, four hundred sixty-five more to go!
Sweet!
