After some hesitation I was able to pull myself out of bed this early morning and do the workout I'd planned. Let me tell you it wasn't easy going outside in the freezing (30 degrees) cold after you've been bundled up in a warm cobija and dreaming of Ben Affleck (who by the way is a great kisser).
Never mind that I was breaking in my new shoes and by the end of the 40 min workout I had a blister the size of Rosie O'Donnel's hunger on the back of my left heel. Ouch! But I did it! It felt great running (it's what I call running so shut-up!) in semi-darkness with the gracious face of the full moon leading the way. To my surprise I wasn't the only one out there at such hours. People were already leaving for work! Sheez! Can you imagine being dressed and in your car by 4:30 AM! Bless their little frozen souls.
Did I tell you I had to run in the street because the sidewalks are still covered in snow? Yup. At first I did a trial run down my block but after the first almost fatal slip (fatal because I had my stun gun in my hand and I could've shocked myself in the bum as I reached back to balance the fall... I can picture it now in the local news: "Female found dead on sidewalk due to self-induced tazer injury".) Please don't e-mail me about the dangers of stun guns, I know the dangers, I've felt the dangers (don't ask), BUT it's less dangerous than running around the city unprepared. Si? Okay. Now where was I? Right. So after the little incident on the sidewalk I immediately bolted for the street. I had on plenty of light colored clothing for visibility and was warm enough to not freeze to death (second possible news event: "Female runner found frozen to death due to clothing referred to in style guides as California-wear"). The only tiny little setback once I actually started running (don't even go there) was the fog forming on my glasses because I was breathing so hard. Heh. That's another joke in itself but I'm not touch it. I've made enough fun of myself already. Anywho, the early morning run was great, despite the blister.

On to other local news. I was going to write about my Friday night and how being with a certain person makes me feel but I will leave it for the recap. Yeah, yeah I mentioned it in the last entry but I've been busy.... running! *wink*

My friend Cas came back from his trip to N.J. unharmed. Phew! I feared he might stay there for good seeing that he's all lovey-dovey with his girlfriend. (Ya me salio una carie de tan dulce que son...ja!). But thank the lords of common sense he's back in town and now I can continue to make his life miserable. Bwaa haaa haaa. Actually we're getting together on Thursday, January 11th for my
BIRTHDAY!
Wahooooooo!!! All gifts, good wishes, parties, money and props are kindly welcome. Don't be shy now.
Anywho, I might have lunch with him since I'll be near his office. I'm taking the day off work to feed my ill-nurtured brain who hungers for some cultura. My cousin is taking me out to breakfast in the morning and my friend Al is taking me to dinner that night. I don't know what's in store for the weekend celebration just yet, but for sure I'm drinking something because it's been at least 7 days since I've tasted liquor. Hey, a girl's gotta live ain't she?

The end of good music and the rise of pop-cultured Britney Spears. Discuss.
