What would a lantern festival be without lanterns? to the left is a person who makes sugar sculpture type things. For 1RMb (about 12 cents) you spin the wheel and he makes the animal that it lands. I did this and being the lucky person I am, I got the Dragon. Below is one of the vendors who would write your name for you. I purchased one and had them write my Chinese name for me, it turned out rather nice. |

I think fair food is pretty bad no matter what country you are in. Unlike the Del Mar fair however, no grilled corn on a stick. Which is surprising because Chengdu is known for food on a stick. Another picture of Mr. Yanagisawa. Below are horses made totally of spoons. (Well the hooves are bowls but the rest is spoons. I took a close up of the tail, it looks like they used fishing line to tie everything together. |
