There have been several “festivities” while I have been here. Each semester we have had a “welcome the teachers” banquet. Last term we were taken to the lantern festival at the park. This is definitely on the of the highlight of spring festival, or so I am told. We also stumbled across something called seniors day on campus. Several groups of seniors put on various dance programs or sung. It was very nice. This term we had the national day banquet, similar to July 4th in the states, put on by the Sichuan Provincial government. It was quite a nice spread.
