The LEXX has arrived in orbit around Earth, but the natives are none too happy to have them around, especially when the LEXX eats a large chunk of the planet...
There's something not quite right about the start of this new, latest and, indeed, last series of LEXX. And that something is the fact that it starts with a presidential cavalcade and is set on Earth. Now, the crew has visited enough planets in its time, but somehow reality doesn't seem to fit the LEXX universe. That said, things quickly get back to normal as Prince puts in an appearance, manipulating the actions of the US President behind the scenes and forcing him from office.
There are familiar faces on Earth that aren't explained away (aside from the fact that everyone from Heaven and Hell is now on Earth, presumably, but we don't know if they can be killed now) and the story is a little quicker that last season's efforts. It's a shame the crew stay on board the LEXX for so much of the episode, as things could be sped up significantly by them making an early planetfall. By the end things seem to be moving along nicely, with Prince as wonderfully unpleasant as ever, Kai and Xev keen to explore the planet and some kind of strange alien device heading for our planet that no doubt doesn't mean good. It's good to have them back, and there's plenty of potential here for the rest of the season.
