Quite often when we travel we seem to spend quite a bit of time trying to decide where to eat (not every town has a Tobacco Co. or Grey Goose). When we recently spent the night in Charleston, WV we discovered a western version of The Outback Steakhouse. Although the management claims to have no ties to the Australian theme establishment, the similarities were astounding. This chain goes to some trouble to set the western theme, from a "dirt" (not really) floor with peanut shells to the crates and western memorabilia stacked about, one would think they had really stepped into the old west. This "old" frontier saloon can teach it's down under cousin, a few things about preparation and portions. Although the country music may not appeal to everyone the food is sufficient to make you forget the less elegant surroundings. Their version of a filet mignon was superbly seasoned and prepared to perfection. Like the Outback chain the meal come standard with a fresh, hot, dark loaf and large potato and salad.

Also like the Outback, they have their identical version of the "Bloomin' onion". Prices are amost identical as well, around $10 - $18 per person.
