Season’s Greetings

We’re Back

As this edition of Model East will be published after Christmas I would like to wish everyone a belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. If Santa was kind you should have received any models and/or accessories you asked for if not well there’s always next year.

With a new year comes a new magazine editor I think everyone knows me for those of you that doesn’t my name is Tony Tanzer. I have been a member of the club for about 4 ½ years now and build mostly cars and lately 1/48 aircraft mostly of WW2 vintage.  Anyway enough about me and more about Model East. I would like to publish this magazine bi-monthly to achieve this, as with any club activity it can only be as good as the support that it’s given. So don’t be shy with submitting articles as this magazine really showcases our club to others outside of our club activities. As this is my first edition and it’s the holiday period the content is somewhat lacking. So I have surfed the net for information of new releases from various companies. In each future edition will be any news from the internet I can find of model releases and re-issues coming onto the market. So if you hear of any upcoming releases don’t hesitate to tell me about them in case I have missed them. Once again don’t be shy with contributing articles to our club magazine.  That’s enough from me anyway until next issue happy modelling.

Model Review by Tony Tanzer

Manufacturer: Tamiya

Type: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI

Kit No: 24213

Scale: 1/24 Sports Car Series No. 213

Material: Injection Moulded Plastic

Tamiya released this lovely little kit in September ’99. The detail is Tamiya’s usual crisp moulding

The kit is moulded in white, black and one sprue finished in satin chrome, included in this kit is a nice set of soft vinyl tyres, a sheet of vinyl mesh for the grille, a nice little decal sheet and the Tamiya mask for the windows. As this is a kerbside kit you only get lower engine detail. The aggressive lines of the Lancer are well displayed in this scale. And as shown in the December releases from Tamiya this kit is also available in the rally car livery of Tommi Makinen.
