THE ORIGINAL MUSEUM OF MODERN ODDITIES

The first Museum of Modern Oddities was formed in 1953 by Constantin Fripp an Austro-Hungarian ex-primary school teacher.

After his life changing experiences in the Second World War he dedicated the rest of his life to the free-ing museum, or in the phrase that he coined, creating a museum without walls." Fripp created many manifestations of MoMO and began the process of world affiliate museums.

In 1998 Hugo Dudas, the Grandson of Fripp, approached the Melbourne Experimental Centre for the Contemplative Arts (MECCA) whose members were long time Fripp admirers, and invited them to establish an Australian branch of MoMO.

Museum for Fripp was about the process of life rather than the preservation. He died in 1973 leaving 13 various affiliated or associated museums.
