Joey pulled up to a stop at the busy airport, he was wearing a baseball cap that went far down, sun glasses covering his eyes. He looked over at Laura, she had on a light blue dress shirt with black dress pants, her curly brown hair was pulled up in to a messy ponytail, and her makeup made her face look flawless. Turning off the car, they both got out of his car and slowly made it into the airport, they made their way to the gate pushing past people, luggage, crew members. Joey was lost in his thoughts until Laura let out a high pitched screech.
“Mommy!” Laura screeched running to her mother and wrapping her arms around the neck of the older woman for a tight hug.
“Laura Katherine!” Her mom smiled giving a hug in return for the one she received. The older eyes looked up and landed on Joey, baseball cap and glasses still resting on his face. “Joseph!” She smiled pulling away from Laura and giving Joey a tight hug.
“My mom can’t stop talking about you coming down. She hasn’t seen you in years.” Joey smiled hugging her back.
“Yeah, well my baby is getting married in a few months, I’ve got to get on a plane sometime in my life!” The older lady laughed as the three of them went to baggage claim to get her bags.
They were soon out of the airport and in Joey’s car driving down the high way. They were headed down to Justin’s house. No one was talking in the car; Joey was trying to drive in the afternoon heat, and traffic jam, while Laura was thinking about the wedding, Justin, JC and other things.
“It was very generous of you and Justin to let me stay with the both of you.” Lori, Laura’s mother smiled looking at her only daughter out of five kids.
“Well, Momma I wouldn’t have it any other way, and Justin insisted that you stay at our place. So don’t worry about it, there are plenty of bedrooms for all of us.” Laura smiled warmly as they pulled up to Justin’s house
Joey helped bring in the suitcases, he wasn’t sure if he should stay or go back to the studio where everyone else should be recording a few more songs for the new CD. He knew it was going to be odd for Justin at first to meet Laura’s mother, but knew that it wouldn’t be THAT odd after all Justin was actually falling for his best friend. It shocked him when he seen them kissing and ignoring JC, it shocked him because Justin and JC confessed their love for one another, and he quickly moved on to another, a woman at that.
“Are, Anthony, Jack, Mark, and Jared coming down some time?” Joey asked sitting down the last suitcase in the guest bedroom. He looked at Laura who was helping her mother unpack her clothes and put them in the dresser.
“UH… I haven’t called them and told them yet. I’m kind of afraid they’ll come down and be asses to Justin, you know them…” Laura said hanging up a dress in the closet.
“Oh pumpkin don’t worry about your brothers, I’ve already talked to Mark and Tony. They can’t be more happier that their baby sister has finely met the right guy.” Lori gushed as she placed socks and her under garments in the top drawer.
“I cannot wait to see them again, I haven’t seen them in over four years.” Joey half laughed walking towards the bedroom door. “Laura, Lori I’m going to head out now, I need to get to the studio. Are you two going to be fine with out any MEN around?” Joey smiled winking when he said men.
Laura turned around and smiled at him warmly before she turned back to the closet where she was hanging a few more dresses up.
“Don’t worry about us, Justin will be home in a few hours and me and Momma are going to catch up while we have some time alone.” Laura said with her back to Joey.
Joey nodded his head even though Laura couldn’t see her; Lori walked over and gave Joey a tight hug.
“See you later Joey, tell your mother I’ll be over there tomorrow to visit!” Lori smiled turning around to finish unpacking.
Joey sighed as he walked down the hall; he stopped in front of Justin’s bedroom door and looked into the cleaner then clean room. He slowly past the door and walked into it looking around, he knew he was over stepping a boundary but he was just curious. He was curious to see how he lived, not in the front room or any other room, but in the bedroom. That was her personal space that is you. After learning that JC and Justin were homosexual, or as tons of other people would put it, Gay. He stopped hanging out with them as much as he could with out making it look like he was afraid of them hitting on him. He didn’t know why he was so afraid of them coming out of the closet, maybe it was the fact that they all were very close and he didn’t see it coming.
Joey looked around a little before he turned to leave; he stopped when his eyes fell on a picture frame lying face down on the night stand. Slowly Joey walked over to the stand and picked up the picture frame, his eyes landed on a photo of JC and Justin. Justin had his arm over JC’s shoulder and JC had his arm over Justin’s shoulder, they both were holding up glasses of beers, smiles from ear to ear. It was Justin’s 21st birthday party they had threw for him at Club Metro in down town Tampa. The party, for his birthday was just a little over three months ago, you could see the happiness pour out of their eyes, just by looking at the photo.
Each guy slowly left the recording booth, Wade was sitting in his producer chair and after listening to Chris complain about his head hurting from the smell of Lance breath after eating his dinner Wade gave up and let them have a break. Joey showed up a few minutes after One o’clock in the after noon, he wasn’t needed before then, so that didn’t matter anyway.
“Guys, who is up to some clubbing” JC asked taking a long drink of his bottled water, each set of eyes in the studio looked at him.
He wasn’t one to go out and party when they were needed in the studio the next day bright and early. He was actually the only one out of all of them that didn’t like to go clubbing most of the time, unless Justin would talk him into living a little.
“Clubbing sounds HOT right now, oh man… I need to have a little fun anyway!” Joey smiled rubbing his hands together; each word spoke out of his mouth had more then one meaning to it.
Lance, Chris and Wade all agreed to go out and have some fun, after all they had been cooped up in the studio for the past week and were due to have some fun. JC looked over at Justin who hadn’t really said a word since JC mentioned he was going clubbing.
“If you have other things to do then so be it. I’m sure Laura and her mother wouldn’t like knowing you were clubbing with a bunch of GUYS.” JC said standing up and downing the rest of his cold water.
The room fell silent upon JC’s words and all eyes were again on him as he threw the now empty bottle of water in the trash can. Justin’s gaze fell to the floor as he ran his hands over his face and head; he stood up and stretched a little while yawning. He looked at JC who was pulling on his jacket trying to avoid eye contact.
“Clubbing sounds great, count me in.” Justin said raising both his eyebrows
They each left the studio around the same time, and showed up at the club a few minutes apart. It was bouncing, and Joey was all ready all over three girls by the time Justin showed up, he found his way to the booth on the side where the guys were sitting, having a drink. He looked around the table and didn’t see JC’s face, the man he wanted to see when he got there. He slowly turned around and spotted him dancing with a girl, his hands at her hips, her ass grinding into him.
Justin slowly made his way out to the dance floor and stopped just short of JC before a girl wrapped her arms around his neck and started to slowly grind her body into his, moving faster and faster as the seconds went by. He wasn’t amused, turned on, or happy. He smiled lightly at the girl and pulled her arms away from him and made his way the rest of the way to JC.
“I need to speak with you, Josh.” Justin’s voice was low, in a whisper against JC’s ear.
Justin grabbed JC’s hand, their fingers linking together, like natural lovers fingers would do, and JC allowed Justin to lead into a smaller room, with no one in it and the lights out.
“Why did you pull me off the dance floor, I was…” JC was cut off by Justin’s lips pressing against his in a kiss, but it wasn’t a kiss of passion, or love, it was a kiss of anger, hurt, and jealousy.
“We need to talk.” Justin said in a low whisper, pushing JC up against the wall of the small room.
“What’s there to talk about?” JC asked turning his head knowing that Justin was about to kiss him.
Justin glared through the dark after his lips connected with JC’s cheek. He slid his hands up JC’s chest and to the back of his neck.
“We need to talk about us, Josh, us.” Justin breathed against JC’s neck before giving him butterfly kisses
“What do you want to talk about us for Justin? What could you possibly want to talk about?” JC asked slightly pushing Justin off of him, he was too jealous, to up set to hurt for him to be kissing him like that.
Justin pushed his self against JC and pulled his arms around his neck, he buried his face into JC’s neck. It was then that JC felt the wet tears falling from Justin’s eyes.
“You’re mad at me aren’t you?” Justin’s voice was so low; he could barely hear him self. When JC didn’t answer, or say no more tears fell from Justin’s eyes, making him sniffle. “Please talk to me, we used to always talk… now… we don’t.” Justin whispered into the side of his neck.
“I’m… not mad, Justin, I’m just jealous…” JC said rubbing Justin’s back, “I’m jealous of her, she gets you, she sees you more… you slept with her…” JC trailed off still rubbing Justin’s back, trying to calm him down.
“How did you…?” Justin asked looking up at JC
“Joey is her best friend, she can’t keep her mouth shut…” JC half shrugged
“I’m sorry I slept with her, I was afraid to tell you, I thought you were going to hate me and never talk to me again. It’s just… I couldn’t stop my self, and I think I hurt her… I was really rough with her, Josh I’m sorry… I’m sorry I’m so sorry Josh… please, forgive me…” Justin said again, tears slipping down his face
“Stop crying like a little girl, it’s not the end of the world.” JC lied tightening his hold on Justin’s body and kissing the top of his head.
After a few minutes Justin stopped crying, while JC just held him, giving him a tight hug. He couldn’t help but hate him self, he didn’t want to even say he forgave Justin, which he didn’t. But it not being the end of the world was so wrong, he lied to Justin, he hadn’t lied to him in years, and here he was lying right to his face.
