Chapter 14

°¥° The Little Things °¥°
Chapter Fourteen

Justin, Sarah, and Mitch all sat on the hard blue seats in the airport waiting for their flight out of L.A to Orlando. They were able to get on a flight at the last minute. It was going to arrive in less then 20-minutes. Justin’s leg bounced up and down as he chewed on his right index finger. Something wasn’t right with the way JC was talking to him over the phone. “Get her out of there now” kept replaying in his head over and over again. Why get Sarah out of there now? What was so wrong with what they were doing? Things kept running through his mind. Was everything OK in Orlando? Did something happen to Adrea? Justin couldn’t put his finger on the tone JC had while talking to him on the phone.

Justin’s thoughts interrupted by a male voice speaking up towards him and Sarah. Justin’s eyes shot up and looked at the man, Gavin standing 15 feet from Sarah. That was the oddest thing in the world. How did he know what airline they were flying in?

“Mr. Garrett, can I help you?” Mitch asked standing up the moment he heard Gavin say Sarah’s name.

“Yes, I wouldn’t mind seeing Sarah for a few more minutes. They left so fast I hadn’t got a chance to tell her a few things.” Gavin said not moving an inch under the stare of the black man.

Mitch turned his head and looked at Sarah, she had stood up with Justin trying to pull her back down in her seat. Mitch turned his head back to Gavin and took a deep breath.

“Wait here and I’ll see if she’ll talk with you.” Mitch said turning around and taking a few steps towards Sarah.

“Justin, he isn’t going to hurt me. He is my father for crying out loud!” Sarah said pulling her arm away from his hands. Justin stood up and grabbed her shoulder.

“I just have a very bad feeling about him.” Justin said looking Sarah square in the eye.

“I’ll just be over there, nothing is going to happen. We are in an airport full of people, and he is my father he wouldn’t do anything to me.” Sarah said lightly kissing Justin on the lips as she turned around and looked at Mitch.

Sarah nodded her head and he moved out of the way, she walked over to Gavin. Gavin placed his hand on her back and lead her away from Justin and Mitch until Sarah stopped walking, they were nearing a corner and Sarah didn’t want to leave eye contact with Justin. She knew for a fact that he would freak out if he couldn’t see her at any point in time while talking to Gavin.

Gavin turned and stood so he was facing Justin, thus making it so Sarah couldn’t look up at her boyfriend. Sarah looked up at the taller, older man. He had changed clothing since the last time she seen him almost an hour ago.

“So Gavin, What is it you need to tell me?” Sarah asked biting her bottom lip, her stomach, mind and heart were telling her to run away from him, however, she didn’t move an inch.

She couldn’t just run and leave with out hearing what he had to say; it was her blood father. All she knew he could tell her she had some sort of genetic disorder that skipped ever generation and if she had kids, they would get it.

“I have to show you something actually, It’s in my car, Let’s go and I’ll show you.” Gavin said with a straight face looking down on her.

Sarah was about to say something when a shrill sound went off behind her; Justin’s cell phone was ringing. She turned her head and looked at him, his back was to her his right hand held his cell phone while his left hand was up to his ear covering it. Not even seconds later Justin turned around and looked at Sarah, shock anger were on his face. The next thing Sarah could feel was Gavin grabbing her arms with one of his hands while putting his other hand over her mouth pulling her backwards. Justin was running towards her, only to be met with person after person getting in his way.

How could he let such a man even close to his girlfriend, his best friend?

Mitch grabbed Justin’s arm and stopped him from going any further. Justin struggled to get away and to run after the man who had Sarah. After a few minutes of struggling Justin gave up and fell limp in Mitch’s arms. Tears were burning at his eyes at thoughts of things Gavin could or would do to Sarah. Everything seemed in slow motion; he didn’t even care that people were standing around looking at him.

Justin was almost in tears when Mitch released him from his arms. Justin looked at Mitch and started to walk backwards slowly. Taking short breaths with every slow step. Before Mitch could grab onto him, Justin turned around and took off out of the airport doors.

His eyes were scanning everyone around him, his eyes landed on Gavin pushing Sarah into a nice BMW. Justin pushed through the people as fast as he could trying to get to Sarah. What kind of sick man would just grab a girl from an airport and kidnap her? Justin thought was he went flying into an on duty cop that worked for the airport.

“Please sir, you shouldn’t be running out side like that.” The man said taking Justin’s shoulders.

Justin’s eyes were on Gavin as he got into the drivers’ side of the car and started it, his eyes traveled to the man holding his shoulders, he almost screamed when he realized it was a cop.

“That… that… he… he… took… took… my…. He…my… he … got… Help… please.” Justin said out of breath, the cop looked at him like he was drunk, and or high on something.

“Please sir, will you come with me?” The cop asked reaching for his handcuffs.

“NO!” Justin yelled looking at the cop, “HE TOOK MY GIRLFRIEND!” Justin shouted pointing to the dark blue BMW with it’s left blinker blinking.

“I’m sure you are over reacting.” The cop said looking up to a large black man, grabbing Justin’s shoulder and twisting him around.

“Mitch, that blue BMW, that is his car!” Justin said fright all over his face wanting to run to the car unable to with the cop in his way.

Mitch let go of Justin and ran off towards the car to late, it pulled out into traffic and sped off down the on ramp and down the high way. Shaking Justin grabbed out his cell phone and called JC up, he didn’t know what to do in his state of mind. All he could think of was to call JC up and ask for help.

Mitch turned around and Justin was gone, the cop was standing there writing stuff down on a note pad. He had seen the license-plate number and wrote it down to help find Sarah.

Justin slid down the stall wall his feet on each side of the toilet seat, tears running down his face. His hands were shaking as he listened to the ringing of the phone. His breath got stuck in his throat hearing JC answer the phone.

“Justin?” JC kept repeating, waiting for him to answer. “Justin, I know this is you, I seen your number on the caller ID.” He added

“He took her.” Justin let out through fear and pain, letting more tears run down his face.

“Who took who? Gavin took Sarah?” JC asked standing up almost knocking everything over.

“You called…and…and…” Justin stopped trying to catch his breath so he could talk. “He grabbed her the moment I hung the phone up with you. He knew I found out, I could see it on his face as he pulled her away.” Justin said through puddles of tears.

When JC didn’t say anything, Justin knew he should go on.

“I tried to go after her, he took off to fast, what am I supposed to do?” Justin asked trying to breathe, not able to get a good breath in.

The other line was silent; Justin pressed his ear into his cellular phone, waiting to hear something anything at all. The only thing Justin could hear was someone walking into the bathroom.

“Justin, I know you are in here… people seen you ran in here.” Mitch’s loud voice boomed through out the empty bathroom.

Mitch stopped walking and listened, he could hear the sniffles and short breath of Justin, his ears perked up, he was in the stall he was standing in front of.

“The cops are tracing the license-plate number, they’ll find her get out of her now Justin. This is not a place to be.” Mitch said watching the door not even blinking.

Justin slowly walked out his eyes swollen and blood shot red. His breathing was short, and he was shaking with fear and anger. Mitch grabbed him and took him into a tight hug. They both slowly walked out of the bathroom, people were looking and there were already news people with video cameras, newspaper people were taking photographs.

How long had he been in that bathroom?

“Who did you call buddy?” Mitch asked pulling Justin’s cell phone out of his hand and shutting it off.

“JC.” Justin choked out as Mitch lead him to a cop car; they both got in and were taken down town.

Justin looked out the window of the LAPD station, his mind was else where, not on what the cops kept asking him over and over again. He already told them the guys’ name, Gavin Erik Garrett. What else did they want from him? The phone number and address of the man?

Justin looked up why didn’t he think of that sooner. He almost fell out of his chair, each cop in the room looked at him. Justin stood up and almost shouted at him self. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a folded piece of paper with their hotel name on it. Mitch shifted in his seat at Justin’s action his eyes never leaving Justin.

“I have his phone number, Sarah wrote it down last night and asked me to hold on to it today.” Justin said his hands starting to shake again as he handed the cop the paper with the phone number on it.

One of the cops grabbed the paper and ran out of the room, while the other cop stayed behind to talk with Justin.

“We are going to run that number, and find out the address in which it is from.” The cop said handing Justin a Dixie-cup full of water.

“How can you do that? Isn’t it against the law?” Justin asked gulping down the water.

“Mr. Timberlake, that man is a serial rapist, on seven counts of first degree of rape to younger girls. This man shouldn’t have even been 15 feet from your girl friend.” The cop said running his hand through his thick black hair.
