January 12th - Getting Started

Just a quick update on my day today.  I made a concerted effort to eat very low fat but a lot of food.  I had 3 meals and 3 snacks for a total of around 10 gms of fat and 1600 calories.  I was able to do this by reading the book 'Fats and Figures', and by going and doing some detective work at the supermarket.  After a filling dinner of grilled chicken breast with teriyaki sauce and rice and veges, I whipped up a low fat chocolate cake which was really delicious.  I'm feeling quite pleased with myself, it was great to feel in control.

I had my second podiatry appointment today and had little plaster bootie casts taken of my feet to make the orthotics.  They will be ready by next Friday.

Last night Flopsy (the boyfriend) and I went to tennis and played two kick-arse sets (well...maybe not kick-arse but we did win).  We are going to join the Thursday night competition.  So that is my tennis goal.  We haven't signed up officially but I will find out how to do so next Thursday.  The competition doesn't start for a few weeks yet.

So far, so good.  Wish me luck for the weekend!
