2005 Draft Results

(note - I will update all the team pages after the draft)

Marauders

Ronnie Brown

RB, MIA

($1, 3 years)

The Marauders proudly select Ronnie Brown, passing over Cedric Benson.

"It was a tough decision - two great RBs from two of my favorite teams.   We went with Brown because he's a better receiver, faster, stronger, and may be like LaDanian.  In contrast, we all know how successful Chicago has been in the drafts going back a few years."

Quiet Storm

Braylon Edwards

WR, Cle

($1, 3 years)

The Quiet Storm select Braylon Edwards, passing up on half-a-half-a-dozen RBs

"With 5 RBs already under contract, we just couldn't justify adding another one, especially with a number of great receivers out there."

PhatBacks

Cedric Benson

RB, Chi

($1, 3 years)

The Phatbacks select Cedric Benson..

"We've got our stud RB to go along with Peyton, now all we need is one or two more RBs, a half-dozen WRs, a kicker and a defense, and we'll be ready for the regular season."

Chargers

Carnell "Cadillac" Williams

RB, TB

($1, 3 years)

The Chargers select Carnell Williams.

"Everyone's gotta have a big car, and for me it's a Cadillac!"

SmackDownSister

JJ Arrington

RB, Ari

($1, 3 years)

SmackDownSister selects J.J. Arrington.

"After losing Westbrook and adding Boldin, all we need now is a breakout back for the future. Arrington's the man, since all he has to beat out is a broke-down back who couldn't even beat out a 72 year old fossil for the starting job"

Ketchup Hotdog

Troy Williamson

WR, Min

($1, 3 years)

Ketchup Hotdog selects Troy Williamson

"The Hotdog is very excited about this pick, happy to see him fall to
the 6th spot. Who will score more TD's this year Moss or Williamson?"

The better question... who will throw more sideline temper tantrums?

Stiffarms

Mike Williams

WR, Det

($1, 3 years)

StiffArms select Mike Williams

"Since there are no more running backs on the board, and since Kellen Winslow III isn't available yet, we'll add another Detroit rookie WR.  The other two they have worked out pretty well.... when they were heatlhty"

JYDs

Matt Jones

WR, Jac

($1, 3 years)

JYD's select Matt Jones

"If he's not a TE, you'll find him on the waiver wire week 3."

Hooligans

Mark Clayton

WR, Bal

($1, 3 years)

The Hooligans select Mark Clayton

"First, no competition except from a big fat Tight End.  Second, their QB is getting better.  Third, the last guy named Mark Clayton was great.  It's a lock!"

ROC's Rynos

Maurice Clarett

RB, Den

($1, 3 years)

Ryno's select Maurice Clarett

"The Denver Running-back Factory will create another star - if he can stay clean, if there is an injury to a starter, and if he can stay healthy himself.  Oh, and if he can run faster than your average Defensive Tackle..."

Assassins

Frank Gore

RB, SF

($1, 3 years)

The Assassins select Frank Gore

"Odds are that as bad as San Fransico is, SOMEONE there has to be the best, and why not take a chance on Gore?"

Hitmen

Heath Miller

TE, Pit

($1, 3 years)

The Hitmen select Heath Miller

"Cover boy for EA Sports NCAA Football 2005.  Now that's an endorsement you can trust!"
