Should the Divisional records count?
I asked if the divisional records should count, and the popular vote was to include it in seeding for 2005. Only 1/3 of the league voted, so it won't be binding, but I will bring it up at the next auction.
Should we give a cash prize to non-playoff teams
I asked if we should give the consolation bracket some kind of prize. The votes were mixed with 50% wanting a prize and 50% not wanting a prize. I'll bring it up again later on when we're discussing rule changes for 2005.
Who had the worst luck?
It was a runaway win for the Chargers, who had bad luck not only from injuries but as of Week 13, have had the most points scored against them of all teams.
Should we upgrade to a full featured league?
Only 5 people voted (and one was me) so this is far from a decisive poll, but 80% were in favor of moving to an upgraded league. I will do more research next year into leagues that might be able to accommodate all our needs to see what kind of deal we can get, and then propose it to the league when we know more.
Should we change the way that Defense is scored?
I asked if we should change the weighting on defenses. The answer came back that we should keep the way we score defenses right now, which is nice & simple, so we won't make any changes..
Should we move to a rounded scoring system?
I asked: we currently score fantasy points to two digits (e.g. 87 rushing yards = 4.35 fantasy points). Usually these are rounded in chunks (heavily downwards) so 87 rushing yards would equal 4 fantasy points and 99 rushing yards would also equal 4 fantasy points. The advantage to using rounded numbers is that it (1) gives an easier-to-relate-to number and (2) can result in ties (which is cool). The advantage to the fractional method is that it gives a better distribution of fantasy points. What do you think we should use next year?
Answer: Pretty clear everyone likes the exact digits.
Setting a new benchmark for futility
It looks like the Quiet Storm is going to have to wait a while to get their first win, as most people think it will happen on Week 12 vs. SDS
When will the Quiet Storm's losing streak end?
0 | Week 7 vs. the Marauders (Marauders won by about 11 points) |
5 | Week 12 vs. SmackDownSIster |
0 | Sometime in 2005 (next season) |
1 | Sometime in 2008 (when he can draft an entirely new team) |
3 | Sometime after the Boston Red Sox win the World Series. |

Ending a losing streak
When asked which team would end their loosing streak first, the vote was for the Bucks (although someone voted after the game was played.... cheater). In the end, it was the Bucks that ended their bad streak first. Of special note was that nobody voted for the commissioner's tea.
Which will be the first team to get a freakin' win?
2 | Bills (lost to the Jets) |
0 | Dolphins (lost to the Pats) |
3 | Bucks (beat the Saints) |
1 | 49ers (lost to the Cardinals) |
0 | Marauders (lost to Ketchup Hotdog) |
0 | Quiet Storm (lost to the Assassins) |

Best of the best
In a surprising upset, the Falcons Defense outplayed the Panthers, handing the Panthers their first loss of the year and beating popular expectation. Also, some dumbass voted for the Pats... like the Bills will ever beat the Pats...
Which will be the first team to suffer a defeat?
1 | Patriots (won 31-17) |
0 | Jets (won 17-9) |

Those losing teams
The once lofty 49ers were the team that most viewed as the poorest team in 2004 so far. Of the six 0-2 teams that played this week, five of them lost. The only one that didn't was Houston who played 0-2 KC.
Which is the worst 0-2 team?
1 | Miami Dolphins (lost their 3rd game) |
3 | San Francisco 49ers (lost their 3rd game) |
1 | Buffalo Bills (bye) |
0 | Houston Texans (won their 3rd game) |
0 | Kansas City Chiefs (lost their 3rd game) |
0 | Tampa Bay Buccaneers (lost their 3rd game) |
2 | Arizona Cardinals (lost their 3rd game) |

Star of the big matchup
Surprisingly no votes for the superstar wideouts. While Terrell Owens had the big (controversial) play, it was Donnovan McNabb that was the star of the game.

0 | Randy Moss (69 yards receiving, 1 TD) |

As expected Nachos and Salsa take the lead. There really isn't much competition for salsa in my book.

How's the team?
Following the auction, I asked this question. Most teams think they have a good shot at the final (50% of the vote). Only 2 think they are already out of the running.
The decision was to equally weight the regular season and post season performance for the ballot.
The cap penalties will be retained as they are now (last option)
By a narrow victory, we will be changing most points to include the post season. This gives ALL teams an added incentive to start their best lineup throught the season
Near unanimous decision - we will keep the 3 divisions.
Ahman Green was the regular season MVP with 6 of a possible 12 votes (only 1 abstained). Ahman was the difference for the Marauders from a playoff team and a middle-of the pack team this year.
The criteria I used for this poll is:
Commissioner's Poll #10
The clear winner (as I suspected) is both points and Win-Loss, back to the beginning of the season with a 2/3 majority vote.
Poll #9
It was a close race, but the final result was a tie between Priest Holms, the top Fantasy Producer and the PhatBack's Lucky Rabbit's foot - which gave them yet another win.
Poll #8
It was a close race, but the Brothers Tiki & Ronde topped out the list, with the Brown Brothers coming in a close second (slighlty behind since there were so many of them).
Poll #7
This was clear enough after one week, so I can take it down. The vast majority say that the Commissioner should NEVER fix line-ups (which is as I have been doing this year). Next Commissioner poll in 2 weeks.
Poll #6
With a landslide ...um... victory? Donnovan McNabb is voted into the Hall of Shame. Just a pathetic result from a guy who is so good
Poll #5
The tribe has spoken. Although 4 out of the 7 votes were for keeping it as "doubtful or out", the other 3 all voted for the same option (#3). So next year we will continue to allow up to 2 players to be placed on injured reserve, but only if they are definitely out.
So
far we've been going with 2 IR slots. These have mostly been used to
hold players that were out either for the season or for a few weeks.
Now I'm wondering (as are others) if we should continue to have 2 IR slots,
or if it should just be 1. The other thing is what status should a
player be to qualify for IR? Should it be likely they
won't play (as it is now - out or doubtful) or should they definitely
be out?
I will be changing one rule starting next year: That if a player's situation changes outside of our guidelines (either out or out/doubtful) then they can not be kept on the IR. This year they can be kept on the IR until they play in a game. What should the IR policy be next year?
Keep the current rule (2 slots, player must be listed as Doubtful or Out); if the player's status changes to questionable or better, they must be activated immediately.
Cut down to one slot (player must be listed as Doubtful or Out); if the player's status changes to questionable or better, they must be activated immediately.
Two slots and the players must be listed as Out to be eligible; if the player's status changes to doubtful or better, they must be activated immediately.
One slot and the player must be listed as Out; if the player's status changes to doubtful or better, they must be activated immediately.

Poll #4
The Rynos were voted Most Likely to have their streak ended, and that was the correct call, although the Quiet Storm also ended their losing streak AND the Tight Ends submitted a full lineup. Only two more streaks left...
Poll #3
And the winners are: A three way tie between Portis, Manning and the Velcro Gloves.
Poll #2
As suspected, the majority of the league belive "JJ" had the hardest time spelling his own name. There's no doubt he's a quick one...
Poll #1
The result from the first poll is option 1: The Marauders ripped off the Tight Ends by taking Terrell Owens in exchange for the often injured James Stewart and the out-of-football thief Albert Connell.
