Susan Pacitti Greetings from Sunny Leicester! Writing something for the newsletter is always time to take stock, but as I can't remember when we alst had a newsletter, I'm just going to fill you in on what's been happening in the last year. I changed jobs last july, and am now Rights, Permission and Agreements Officer for CIMA Publishing, the publishing arm of The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. I had always wanted to move into this particular area of publishing, as selling rights and negotiating contracts have always interested me. The company has been going through a lot of changes in the alst year, so there have been lots of challenges and opportunities. I got to go to the Frankfurt Book Fair again, which was great - is anyone else out there working in publishing and likely to be there this year? The only drawback is that the company is based in London, a 200+ mile round trip necessitating a 5:00a.m. wakeup (groan) so I work there three days a week, and at home the other days. I've gotten used to working from home now, and do manage to be disciplined, and more importantly, avoid the biscuit barrel! No kids, I don't know if I'll ever have enough courage to go through that whole childbirth thing, but Fraser and I have a mad black and white cat instead, quite enough of a handful. This year we've taken our motorbikes to Scotland a couple of times, and also to a bike rally in Iredland (where I won a Furthest Traveled Female award). I know that our distances are tiny compared to American distances - but it was a satisfying achievement all the same. We hope to go to Italy on them next year. I was in NY last December; so do make it over to the States occasionally. If any of you are over in the UK at any point, please do ring email me. Long-term I hope to move back to Scotland in the next couple of years, having been in England for 10 years now - never thought I'd be away this long. My folks and brothers and familier are all doing fine, and I'll try to see them as often as I can. I've recently gotten back in touch with Holli Pearson, Julie Swanson (Hemminger) and June Kong (Sabo), and it's been great to catch up with what's happened over the years. I would love to go to Homecoming at Morrison next June, and am aiming to hopefully tie it in wiht a business trip - hope to see lots of you there! Susan (Pacitti) |

Wes Parker 20 Year in 20 sentences or less I hope. After graduation, I attended Gardner-Webb College in NC for a Year. (Mike Green - '81 - went the too) Then, after a year at the Milwaukee School of Englineering, I joined the U.S. Marines to earn more money for college. After active duty I served in the Reserves until 11/1989. A variety of jobs in Atlanta, GA led me to finally return to college in 1990. After earning my MBA at the University of Nebraska, I worked in the transportation industry in Omaha, NE and Kansas City, MO. I moved back to Milwaukee, WI area three and a half years ago when my mother was very ill. Mom has made a full recovery and I am really enjoying my current job providing consulting and software solutions to companies in the realm of Supply Chain Management. Coincidentally, one of my clients has a factory in Taichung! With any luck, I'll be able to swing a business trip to get to the reunion. Still haven't found my soulmate. Single and looking to settle down down is my current line. Speaking of reunions, my vote would be to have a reunion in the States also. I would suggest that we NOT hold it at the same time as the one in Taiwan, because I'm sure there would be a few who would like to attend both! If there is anything I can do to help with the reunion here, let me know, I'll be glad to help. Regards, Wes |
