Results for Wednesday : Agenor d. Morrison 6-3, 6-4. Well the clay
got the best of me today. The conditions were really wet and heavy here
which slowed the game down even more and it made it difficult for me.
Agenor loves to stand deep in the court and grind and with the conditions
the way they were today it was tough to get the ball by him.
I felt like I hit the ball really well and gained some confidence even
though I lost. We play doubles tomorrow afternoon.

May 15, 2001 USA Challenger of Rocky Mount, NC
Results for Tuesday : Morrison d. Massa 6-4, 6-1. Well my first match
on clay went well today. I played well and got my first win of the
clay court season. I play the number 2 seed, Ronald Agenor, tomorrow
not before 12pm. This is a good opportunity for me tomorrow.
I am excited about playing.

May 14, 2001 USA Challenger of Rocky Mount, NC
Results for Monday : Morrison/Ginepri d. Furmanski/Arquez 7-5, 7-6.
Today we played pretty well. We were serving for both sets up 5-3
and found a way to make it a bit tougher than it needed to be. I
play tomorrow in singles not before 2pm. I am excited to play and
will update sometime tomorrow evening. I am also doing a diary entry
for the USTA that can be found on their website...usta.com. It is
a pretty cool thing. Check it out!!

I know I have not updated my web page in a while, but I am back action
again. I don't know if many of you know but my coach and best friend
Rudy Vargas died in a tragic car accident on April 22. I have been
trying my best to put one foot in front of the other and taking each day
one at a time, but it has been very difficult for me. He coached
me from the time I was 15 and was a very vital part of my life outside
of tennis as well. So needless to say I am missing him greatly.
This is my first tournament back since Elkin and I am not really expecting
much here, because my motivation to play hasn't been the best over the
last couple of weeks. I have to start somewhere though and this is
it. I am in the main draw of singles and doubles here this week.
I play doubles tomorrow with Robby Ginepri of the USA. We play Damien
Furmanski and Patricio Arquez both of Argentina. I will play singles
on Tuesday against Edgardo Massa of Argentina. So I got some real
clay courters to play. This tournament is on clay as well.
I will be back to updating full time now. I hope you all continue
to check out what is going on from day to day.

Results for Friday : Morrison d. Gubenco (Canada) 6-3, 6-4. Sorry
I have not been able to update my page this week. I am staying in
housing and it has been difficult to do so. I am in the semifinals
tomorrow against Jack Brasington of the USA. He is same guy that
beat me in Stone Mountain in the close match. I will update again
as soon as I can again. Just please be patient with my updates.

GA
Results for Friday : Brasington d. Morrison 7-5, 6-7(6), 7-6(8)...I lost
a heartbreaker today in the quarterfinals as you can see I'm sure.
I had one match point and lost it by missing a volley in the net strap.
This game is a game of inches and it proved that today. I played
well and it was an incredible match. I am going to stay here for
a couple of more days and train and then I am going to Elkin, NC on Sunday.
I will begin play there on Tuesday. Hope everyone has a happy easter
weekend.

Results for Tuesday : Morrison d. Roux 7-6(5), 6-2. I played a guy
who was at one time ranked in the top 60 in the world. He has been
injured and has dropped quite a bit. He is now ranked around 240
now. He was seeded 4th in the tournament. I played solid today!
He was had two sets points in the first set and I fought them off and ended
up winning in the tiebraker. I play doubles tomorrow with Robby Genepri
of the USA. He just turned pro a month or so ago. We are represented
by the same management group now and that is our connection.

April 4, 2001 USA Challenger Calabasas, CA
Results for Wednesday : Norman d. Morrison 6-4, 7-6(5)....Today was
a rough day for me. I had many opportunities to take control of this
match and didn't. There was one break of serve in the whole match
and it was the first service game of the match. I had a bunch of
break pts. on his serve and never could covert. He is 6-7 or so and
serves huge. I returned really well and had a bunch of chances but
I never converted. I am heading to Stone Moutain, GA tomorrow to
get ready for my next tournament. I will begin play there on Tuesday
or Wednesday.

April 3, 2001 USA Challenger Calabasas, CA
I am getting prepared for my match tomorrow against Dick Norman.
I practiced today with Vince Spadea. He was formerly top 20 in the
world. It was a good workout and a good experience for me.
I don't know what time I play tomorrow but I will update when my match
is completed. Keep in mind that I am on California time.

April 1, 2001 USA Challenger Calabasas, CA
I got a main draw wild card into the challenger this week here in California.
I play on my first round on Wednesday against Dick Norman of Belgium.
He is played in the finals of a futures tournament in France today.
That is why my first round will not be until Wednesday. I am practicing
hard here and working out in the gym to prepare myself. I am playing
well and look forward to this opportunity to break through at the next
level.
