March 04, 2001 USA Futures #6 Tyler, TX
Results for Sunday : Morrison d. Harper-Griffith 6-3, 6-4.  I got my first pro victory of Jeffmy career today.  It was a really well played and fun match.  There was a good crowd  and a lot of enthusiasm.  I played very well to win!  I was down 3-1 in the first set and then won 5 straight games to win the set 6-3.  I then broke him at 3-3 in the second set and won 6-4.  I am now going to take a few days off and then begin training again.  I am hoping for my next event to be the Ericsson Open in Miami, FL.  This is a tour event and I am hoping to obtain a wild card into qualifying there.  That would begin on March 17.

Results for Saturday : Morrison d. Tahiri (Morroco) 6-1, 7-5.  The finals are set for tomorrow at 1pm.  I play Levar Harper-Griffith of the USA.  Levar happens to be one of the guys that I travel with and practice with on a regular basis.  He lives and trains at the same place I do in Tampa.  So we have practiced together hundreds of times.  I am looking forward to once again trying to win my first pro tournament.  The weather is supposed to cleart tonight and make for a good day tomorrow.  I won't be able to update this until very late tomorrow night when I return home in Tampa.

Tommi Lenho (Finand) 3-6, 6-2, 6-2.  Well it is like 10:30 and I am just getting a chance to have the time to do this.  Needless to say it was a long day of tennis, but a very good one!  I am in the semi-finals tomorrow against Mehidi Tahiri of Morroco.  They are going to try to play it outside, but it is not looking good for that.  So we will probably be indoors again.

March 01, 2001 USA Futures #6 Tyler, TX
Results for Thursday : Morrison d. Montevassel (Israel) 6-0, 6-4.  Well I beat the 8th seed today who is ranked like 330 or so.  We played indoors becuase it is still raining here.  It was a tough match in the second set.  I was up 4-1 and kind of had a little mental lapse, but I held serve at 4-4 and then broke him to win the match.  I will play Geoff Abrams of the USA tomorrow in the round of 16.

February 28, 2001 USA Futures #6 Tyler, TX
Well suprisingly enough there are no results yet for this tourney.  It has rained here for two straight days.  We are finally going to move indoors tomorrow to play so I will definately have a result tomorrow.  I play the 8th seed Oren Montevassel from Isreal.  I am not playing doubles this week because of a sore low back.  It is ok...just a little stiff.  So check back later tomorrow evening for my results.

Results for Wednesday : Nenod Toruman/Dimitri Vemic d. Morrison/Laski 6-2, 7-6 (5).  Today wasn't our best day in doubles.  We played pretty poorly to lose the first set and had alot of chances to break in the second but could never break through.  I play Zach Fleishman tommorrow in singles.

February 20, 2001 USA Futures #5 Houston, TX
Results for Tuesday : Morrison d. Nicolas Todero (Argentina) 6-4, 7-6 (4).......Well, I am back playing again.  I had a few weeks off to train really hard.  I was practicing like 2 hours in the morning and spending 2 hours in the afternoon in the gym.  I think it really paid off...I felt very strong today on the court.  I got to alot of balls that I wouldn't normally have gotten to.  It was the difference in the match today.  So it goes to show that it isn't just how many hours you spend hitting tennis balls...there is also some things you can do off the court that helps out alot.  It may not be as fun as practicing, but it has to be done.  Well I have the day off in singles tomorrow and play doubles with Jeff Laski who played at Illinois.  We play Nenod Toruman and Dimitri Vemic.  I will update again tomorrow after doubles.

January 27, 2001 USA Futures #3 Aventura, FL
Results for Saturday : Morrison d. Max Boye (France) 3-6, 6-1, 6-3...Today was a tough match.  The guy I played was very difficult to play.  He had an unbelievable forehand and a great serve.  He hit alot of winners, so it was tough to get in a groove.  So I just tried to play as many balls as possible.  That seemed to work and I went on to play really well in the last two sets.  I play Dimitri Touranosov of Russia tomorrow.

Results for Wednesday : Morrison d. Robicheaud (Canada) 6-2, 6-3.  Fish/Morrison default in doubles because Fish reinjures his back in singles.  Play Geoff Abrams in singles tomorrow.  Thanks for the couple of emails I  have received on my site.  I really appreciate you guys following me!

January 23, 2001
Results for Tuesday : Morrison d. Drew 6-3, 6-3....Morrison d. Ancic (#1 Junior in the world from Croatia) 3-6, 7-6(7), 6-2.  Doubles was postponed until tomorrow.  It was a tough day today but I survived.  To think the tournament is just beginning is a little humbling.  I played 3 tough players and now I am just starting the main draw.  That is the ropes out here though.  No one says that it is easy!

January 22, 2001
I am sorry that I did not update yesterday.  It was a really long day of playing and I was exhausted by the time I got home.  I won both of my matches.  Morrison d. Ciata 6-0, 6-4...Morrison d. Koch 6-3, 6-2.  I didn't play today because of inclement weather again.  So I will once again have to play two matches tomorrow.  I play Eric Drew in the morning at 10.  I also have my main draw doubles tomorrow.  Fish/Morrison vs. Gullet/Abrams.  So I could possibly have 3 matches tomorrow.  I will try to update tomorrow night.

January 20, 2001
Well I have not played any qualifying matches yet.  Yesterday, I didn't play because of darkness.  Today I didn't play because of rain.  So now I will have to play 2 times tomorrow and twice on Monday.  It will be rough couple of days, but I will survive.  I will update you after a long day tomorrow.

      Results for Tuesday : Morrison d. VenGemerden (7th seed) 7-6, 6-0...Morrison/Fish d. 3rd seeded Galimberti/Aldi 6-3, 6-1
I had a long but good day today.  I played a tough player from the Netherlands who is ranked 308.  I played really well and fought hard to obtain a victory.  I served extremely well..I had 13 aces and that is what made the difference.  In doubles Mardy Fish and I played a tough first set and then the second was a gift to us.  The guys didn't try to hard, better known as a tank.  A win is a win, and I'll take it.  I have tomorrow off in both singles and doubles.  That will be good because i need the rest.

January 14, 2001
Today I was supposed to play in the doubles finals against Thomas Blake and Eric Drew of the United States. Thomas' wrist had been bothering him so we won by default.  So Mardy and I won the tournament by default....a pretty slimy way to get a tournament victory, but we had played well leading up to the finals.  I am headed off tomorrow morning to play in another tournament in Del Ray Beach, FL.  My dad brought to my attention that I should include some information on the tour in general.  Well the way it works is there are 18 direct acceptances to each tournament based on your ATP tour ranking at the time of entry.  There are 4 wild cards which are usually given to 2 local players and two players chosen by the USTA or tournament director.  The players that receive these WC don't usually have a high enough ranking to get one of the direct acceptances.  This is what I received this week to play in the main draw of the tournament.  There are also 8 qualifying spots.  There is a whole other tournament of 128 players trying to qualify.  So you must win 4 matches just to get into the main draw.  This is where I lost this week.   As you can see sometimes coming through the qualifying can be very tough depending on your draw..so there you have it, the simplified version of the way you get to play in these tournaments.  If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me via email.  You can find it on the site!

January 12, 2001
Well, I have decided to create a web-page so people can follow my career as a professional tennis player.  I appreciate the many people who have taken interest in following my results.   I realize that it is tough to find results of the tournaments that I play in.  So I have done this to give all who want to follow me an easy way to check my results and read what it is like out here as a professional tennis player.  I will do my best to keep this updated daily.  It will probably have my results from the day by the early evening hours of each day.  I hope you guys enjoy.
I am currently in Miami, FL playing in a Futures tournament.  In singles I lost in the qualifying.  I didn't play my best, but the guy I played had a good day and he deserved to win.  So all I had left for this week was doubles.  I am playing with a guy named Mardy Fish, who is one of the future stars of American tennis.  He is a really neat guy.  Believe it or not we are in the finals of doubles this week.  We beat a good team today by the score of 6-3 7-6, and are looking forward to the finals on sunday.  I received a wild card into the main draw of the tournament next week in Del Ray Beach, FL.  So I will not have to play the qualifying of that tournament.  So until then I am just practicing and playing my doubles to prepare for next week.  I have been playing doubles and then practicing for an hour and a half or so....and then off to the weight room in the evening.  So even though I am out of singles I have been keeping myself busy with that, and going to the beach of course.  Well I hope everyone enjoys my site...and I look forward to hearing from all of you.
