Simple Magics
By Noelle BlueSky
There are many magical acts that are simple and intuitive.
Sound, music and repetitive action
Humming or whistling can contain power. Chanting is a more focused method of magic-casting, sometimes used in conjunction with meditation. Some people sing to make magic. Bells and shakers are common magical items. Repetitive physical action such as toe tapping, head bobbing, or rune casting also has power.
Cord and knot magic
The magic can be simply in the act of tying or untying a knot. The colour of the cord or material tied can have meaning as well.
Candle and ice magic
Consists of burning down special candles. White is the standard colour, but most practitioners use candles of particular colours. The candle may be annointed with herbs or essential oils. Some people carve symbols into their candles, and others may write on a paper that is attached to the candle or placed under it. Similarly, an ice cube with herbs in it may be used to melt down.
Energy magics
All magic is tied to the manipulation of energy through individual will. Some examples of energy magics are grounding, centering, sheilding, charging, and projection.
The written word / drawings
Writing and drawing can greatly focus energy on a particular matter.
