I placed a bid but it is not showing up????

BIDDING is a 2 step / 3 page process. The First page is the Item Listing page where you enter your bid information and click on the button to submit your bid for review. This gives you the Scecond page which is the Review Bid page. REVIEW your bid before doing anything else. If all looks fine then go to the bottom of the page and press the button to place your bid. You will get a Third page confirming your bid if the bid is accepted.
Note, when *sniping* enter your MAX about 15 or 20 minutes in advance and go to page 2. Then with a second browser track the auction. I've found that you rarely have a problem confirming a bid but can have trouble getting a bid placed for review in the closing minutes.

How do I promote my auctions on other web sites, like NewsGroups?

To add a link to a NewsGroup posting just use the eBay Search Page and bring up the results you want (Seller or Item). Use that URL on you NG posting(s) plus on message boards and/or forums that allow you do to so. I suggest that you create a text file with the Sellers link, your email address, and whatever other information you want to provide as a standar signature line on your email and NewsGroup postings. Then, on your Browsers options for email and newsgroups activate the signature option and point it to your text file.

The search is NOT working, what do I do?

If your a Seller and your item is not showing up on the Main Search then eBay Support recommends that you change the catagory of your item then change it back to the catagory you had it in. The next index should pick your item up. Users are reporting this works about 99% of the time.
If the main Search is not working well (mudpuppy), try the Search option on any catagory listing (gecko). You can just change the URL from 'mudpuppy' to 'gecko'. One sign that the main search is not well is the results are much smaller than expected. Remember, when you use the Catagory Search, unless you click the option to only search that catagory, it searches all of eBay.
If you go to the search results page but get a "Server Busy" message then just use your Reload/Refresh option and you should get a response. If you are trying to look at older/closed auctions eBay is putting those on a new server that is not available yet.
Please note also, if you have a bookmark which is accessing either asp.ebay.com or cgi1.ebay.com for seller searches, you should re-create it, as those servers are now out of service.

How do I insert my webpage (HTML) into a listing for the description?

To insert HTML in a listing on eBay what you need to do is cut-n-paste the HTML right into the listing. I suggest that you leave the background alone, unless you use a table and just change the tables background. If you change the background of the body you may make it hard or even impossible for bidders to read the bidding instructions or use the bidding form.
So, set up a test page and create your description including all images. Make sure you use complete URL's (no shortcuts) and make sure you do not use any quote marks (...src=http://"www....") in the image links or any other links you set up. Once you have the page the way you want it view the source and copy it, then paste it into your item listings description. I open a second Browser when I do this just in case I see a problem when I preview the listing so it is easier to fix. You can keep the HTML on your PC in case you do not have an interactive website like geocities.
