Gordon's Weekly Wrong-Doings.

1998 season

  • Feb. 8, 1998 - Bud Shoot-out: Jeff lost it on the last lap, and later complained
that between Rusty jumping the start and losing his transmission he had no chance.
He blamed the officials for not stopping the restart. Man, will somebody get this guy a pacifier?

  • Feb. 15, 1998 - Daytona: Jeff started the season of with a
15th place finish after 'something in the car broke'. Yeah, I bet. I
guess if he couldn't win, he might as well blame it on the car.

  • Feb. 22 - Rockingham: Ok, so he won this one. The nighmare begins again.

  • Mar. 1 - Las Vegas: Gordon takes a 17th, not a good way to
get the season started, with one top ten and two in the teens. Looks like
Jeff could be struggling this year.

  • Mar. 9 - Atlanta: Gordon finishes 19th, -1 lap down...oh yes...i love it...

  • Mar. 22 - Darlington: Jeff takes second...not very cool...

  • Mar. 29 - Bristol: Jeff takes a win....hopefully not to many more are on the way...

  • Apr. 5 Texas: He crashed on lap 2, that makes me happy.

  • Apr. 19 Martinsville: Another no win situation, and he finished a lap down, God does that feel good.

  • Apr. 26 Talladega: Nope, no win here, what a stroke of bad luck for the wonderpunk.

  • May 3 California: A pole, which sucked. A loss, which ruled.

  • May 16 The Winston: He ran out of gas on the final lap, how sweet
    is that? I love it!

  • May 24 Charlotte: I really have to give him credit for once. No
matter how much I hate the guy, he really won this one. I didn't want to see it, but
he pulled it off on the last couple of laps. Cleanly I might add. Not many times I can say something like that.

  • May 31 Dover: He lost this one because of a splash n' go pit stop. I have to
say that that was incredibly cool when Dale Jarret passed him in the final laps.

  • June 6 Richmond: First, he bumps Brett Bodine, then, Brett knocks him back.
Then, Jeff bumps Rusty, and Rusty knocks the crap out of Jeff. Jeff hits the wall
with an impressive 'thud'. Jeff proceeds to the pits where he cries and wets himself
repeatedly. Let us all thank Rusty Wallace for this 'Jeff Gordon Moment'.

  • June 14 Michigan: He didn't win here, and that's just fine with me.

  • June 21 Pocono: He comes in 2nd here, but Mayfield takes the win and gains in the points.

  • June 28 Sears Point: Yeah...he won...man...I HATE HIM.

  • July 12 Loudon: Thank God, he didn't win, and that is good enough for me.

  • July 26 Pocono: Another win for the enemy...

  • August 1 Brickyard: I have this reaccuring nightmare that Jeff keeps winning the
Winston Million. It was a scary dream, but even worse in reality. He took home $1.3 million for this win.

  • August 9 Bud at the Glen: He wins again....this really sucks...

  • August 16 Michigan: Another win...this is making me sick.

  • August 22 Bristol: He didn't win, but he didn't lose to many points.

  • August 30 Loudon: God...another win....But now we may have him: So unfolds the
tail of TIREGATE. Did the Rainbow Warriors soak his tires in a chemical solution? I'd bet my life on it.

  • September 6 Darlington: 10 wins, and another million dollars. This is horrible.

  • September 12 Richmond: No win here...but he still came close.

  • September 20 Dover: He finished second to Martin, but barely losses in the points.

  • September 27 Martinsville: No win...which is somewhat good.

  • October 4 Charlotte: Martin wins, helping the points effort.

  • October 11 Talladega: Martin crashed, and Gordon came in the top five...it looks like all hope is lost this year.

  • October 25 Phoenix: Gordon does well again, and the season is practically over...

  • November 1 Rockingham: He wins...not only the race, but the championship.

  • November 8 Atlanta: He wins, but not until after putting Morgan Shepard hard into the wall. Yeah...he won it all...but next year will be ours.
