This TYCOPRO Car from 1973 is a reproduction of a Ford Powered Italian made DeTomaso Pantera. Scaling is quite good on this model with clean lines all around. The 4 exhaust pipes in the rear are a little oversized, but otherwise this is one the more accurately scaled sports cars in the TYCOPRO series of cars. The solid orange paint scheme shown here is rarer than the more common silver/black hood scheme but both look great. The real car, introduced in 1971, had bodywork by Ghia & a Ford 351 CID Cleveland V8 mid-engine. A rare combination of World Class styling & muscle. In 1974, Ford stopped importing these into America due to tougher bumper standards. When Ford stopped importing, so did TYCO. Estimated value of this slotcar today would be about $80-150 in 9 condition due to color rarity.
