Marilyn Dreampeace- "Come Play With Me"
My ArtCar, a 1973 BMW 2002tii, started out as "Grafitti Beamer", and was painted by over 650 people (I carried the paints in my trunk for the first 5  years, and let anybody paint on it - no quality control).  Gradually it  became more 3D as I began adding stuff to it.  Now the theme for objects that  get attached is interactive and/or musical, thus the new name.

Houston- World Art Car Day Celebration!

Along with the Houston Art Car Klub (HACK), Garden in the
Heights, Art Cars in Cyberspace, St. Arnolds Brewery and the
Heights Association we will create a three day event
celebrating art cars, the artists and their art. See details below:

What happens Friday night? November 3

There will be an opening of car art by local and regional car
artists at the Art Car Museum. (7pm - 10 pm).

What happens Saturday during the day? November 4

WACD celebrations continue at the Art Car Museum with a
large exhibit of local and regional art cars on the median along
with a mini-art car making workshop inside the Museum. Last
year's workshop accounted for an attendance of over 200 in a 3
hour period and over 150 mini art cars being made by children
                            and their families.

What happens Saturday night? November 4

The Night Time Illuminated Art Car Cruise: It will extend past
Heights Blvd. to encompass more of the city. Headed by
volunteers Tom Kennedy and Ken Browning, it will include
over 25 art cars and skaters lit up in creative and various
                            manners.

What happens Sunday during the day? November 4

Sun Nov. 5th - an art car brunch scheduled to be held at a local
eatery. Average cost is to be set at $10 per person as to prevent
anyone from attending due to monetary considerations.

What other activities are part of WACD
                            2000? In Houston

Also included will be face painting, clowns and food vendors .

I live in Houston. How can I particpate
                           in WACD 2000?

If you have an art car, you are invited to bring it to the museum
on Saturday  November 4 to join in the art car exhibit. If you do not have a
car, you can volunteer to help with WACD activities like the
Mini Art Car Workshop. If you don't have time to volunteer but
you do have money, goods or services you can offer, donations
                            would be greatly appreciated.

Call Bryan Taylor at the Art Car Museum (713) 861-5526 for
                            more information.
