Devaway

Devaway was setup during deregulation by ex Crosville employee's to run tendered services in the Chester area. The company was taken over on 14th March 1998 by Arriva Cymru (Crosville Cymru). The following vehicles were also acquired by Arriva; Bristol VR's HUD 495/6/8, 501 W, KJO 502 W, RUA 454/6W, Leyland National Mk2 HED 203 V, CKC 928/9X, EWN 630 Y, B 131/2SED, C 49 OCM, Leyland Lynx D 711 SKB, E 641/2 VFY and E 49 WEM.

JYC 432 V, Bristol VRT/SL3/6LXB with ECW Body work.

HUD 498 W, Bristol VRT/SL3/6LXB with ECW H43/27D Bodywork and was acquired from Oxford in 1994. Now numbered DVG 498 by Arriva Cymru, and is the only ex Oxford VR not withdrawn after the takeover. Sold for scrap to Lister, Bolton 11/1998.

KJO 502 W , Bristol VRT/SL3/6LXB with ECW H43/27D Bodywork and acquired from Oxford in 1994. This VR was re-numbered DVG 502 upon takeover, but is now withdrawn.

PWW 707 P, Leyland Leopard with Alexander T-Type Bodywork. Seen here in Chester in 1994 and sold for scrap in 1996.

C 49 OCM, Leyland National Mk2 NL116TL11/1R, acquired by Devaway in 1997. New as Halton No.33 in 11/1985. This was the last Leyland National built and is numbered SNL 49 in the Arriva Cymru fleet. This national has now been withdrawn by Arriva, Jan 2000.
