October 1970: Introduction R6 R1181 with 1108 cm3 Cléon engine.
Some changes to this car in comparison to the 850:
- 1108 cm3, 33 DIN-kW engine
- Alternator instead of dynamo
- Disc brakes on front wheels
- Electrical driven fan, with thermo switch
- Handbrake on rear wheels instead of front wheels, new type handbrake handle under dashboard.
- New gearbox, (now 1-2 and 3-4 in line)
- Speedometer graded to 150 km/h instead of 140 km/h
- Perforated disc wheels, instead of non-perforated
- Extra air inlet on front, below the grille, the number plate is now placed on the bumper.
