When cutting accelerator, heater, choke and other cable housings, it is best
to use an angle grinder. This method will avoid metal burrs that will rub and
wear the inner cable. Bike shops have cable housings that have a Teflon
coating inside which makes the cables operate more smoothly. Also, use oil,
not grease on the cables.
Editors note: A dry cable lubricant (i.e. Dry Slide) will work well. This can be found in motorcycle shops.
