It all had started a few weeks after graduation and i had finally decided to get my licence. I hadn't need one yet. I had a permit, so all was cool. After i got my licence i figured with the money that i had saved up from the previous summer i could get a car.
My mom worked with someone who's husband was an executor of an estate (that means gid rid of a dead person's things to pay off things, I think). Well he had a car that had been an old lady's from Hilton Head Island and had just been sitting around for a year or so. I offered him $1,300. It was all of my savings.
Now if you have ever seen a car that had been sitting around for a year in coastal South Carolina, you would understand the car was not pretty at all. The car is white, came from the factory white, but i got it green. Moss green that is. It took about five washings to get it white.
Well during the sitting time of the car the paint had faded. But not the bumper paint. So i stripped the bright paint off and left the bumpers black. It doesn't too bad, but it looks better.
The history of the car is a clean one. The lady basically drove it to church every week and maybe an errand or two, but that was it. I got it with 52,000 miles on it. Yep, got a econobox (I though) that was 10 years old with low miles for only $1,300. There are 4 rust spots that i have yet to get fixed. After a few monthes i decided to do something about the stereo...
