Motorcycles or sportbikes and motorcycle racing are great.  I have been riding sportbikes for over 14 years now and have enjoyed all the sportbikes that I have owned.  I have had a variety of sportbikes over my years of riding and you can see alittle bit about them here.

My first bike was a 1987 Kawasaki EX500, it was a great first street bike. I learned allot on that bike and moved up to the big boys and bought a 1987 Yamaha FZR1000.

The FZR was an awesome bike with a monster motor. I installed a Kerker exhaust and a Dynojet kit and the bike really ripped it up. I put almost 25,000 miles on it before some morning dew on the road outside Bentonville Arkansas got the best of me. I went off the road and over a 15-foot drop to the creek below before I knew what happened. Well the bike was a total so I had to find another ride.

This was fun bike on a nice curvy back road but long rides were alittle work. Over the 5 years that I had this bike I put over 25,000 miles on it, mainly on curvy back roads. I did allot of modifications to this bike that were very effective. I had the motor punched out to 860cc with a Vance & Hines bigbore kit, a 5 angle valve job done with mild port work, 38mm flatslide Mikuni carbs installed, and some slotted cam sprockets. The frame and swingarm were highly polished by my hands over a couple of weekends, it looked great but was allot of work. I had to sell this bike before moving to Japan and that really hurt after all the time and sweat.

A trip to Okinawa Japan for 2 years with the U.S. Air Force produced the chance to own a sportbike that you normally can not buy in the USA.  I was not sure what I would buy when I arrived but finally decided on the RVF.  One ride on the nice mountain roads there told me that I had made the right choice.  I was able to bring the RVF400 back to the USA with me after my 2 years in Japan had passed.  I keep the bike for another year and then finally decided to sell it.  I had been riding the new 2000 CBR929RR for over a year and really did not need 2 street bikes.   I have keep the RVF400RR section up on my website to help other owns from around the world.
