Alfrodull
Pantheon: Norse Mythology

Alfrodull is the sun in Norse mythology. Her name means "Glory of elves". It is ambiguous, referring both to the rider and to the chariot used to pull the sun. The chariot is pulled by the two steeds Avakr ("Early Riser") and Alsvin (all swift). They were protected from the heat of the sun by the shield Svalin

The chariot is pursued by the wolf Sköll. Prior to the end of the world, Ragnarok, she will give birth to a daughter, the girl will be eaten by the wolf but the daughter will take her place.

The sun does not give off light but gives heat. The horse's mane gave off light.
