Write Your Very Own Poem
Autumn 2001: It is AMAZING how many of you are sending me poems. I have received 46 poems since June. Where are you all coming from? When you send me your poem, please tell me where you heard about this page. Thanks!
You may consider yourself to be a poet, or you may think that you haven't got a poetic bone in your body. I have found, however, that with a little help, just about anyone can write a good, personal poem. Follow the instructions below and find out for yourself!
Step One: Complete the sentences
INSTRUCTIONS: These sentences will be used to create a poem below. Simply finish each of the sentences with whatever you want to say. Don't end your sentences with punctuation. Move from field to field with the TAB key, and move back a field with SHIFT-TAB Use the button below to "write" your poem.
If you want to see examples of other people's poems written with this form, go to the bottom of the page. It's better if you write your poem first, however. If you mail me your poem, I will add yours to the list.
NOTE: This will ONLY work if you have a JavaScript-capable browser! (Netscape 2 or higher and Internet Explorer 3)
After you press the button, your poem will be displayed below.
Step Three: Here's Your Poem!
INSTRUCTIONS: You can change the poem here to make it suit you. When you have polished the poem, go to step four (send it to Alan).
Here are some examples of other people's poems written with this form. If you mail me your poem, I will add yours to the list.
