In Chinese cities they do have supermarkets like we do in America, but most all Chinese people still shop like they've always done it. That means they go to the huge open air outdoor markets.

It's like in Nepal, where all these people sell only one or one kind of thing. One guy sells apples and bananas, another woman sells fish, and a different woman sells bread.

Each day the sellers come very early in the morning and set up their cart or stand to show off their goods. And each evening when all the shoppers have gone, the sellers pack up their stuff and bring it all home.

Every day the market is filled with people doing their daily shopping and the noise of people bartering for the best prices.
