We have witnessed many incredible and amazing miracles in our meetings as the sick are healed and those bound by Satan are delivered and set free. Yet, of all of the miracles we have encountered, by far the greatest miracle of all is SALVATION.
What is salvation?
Salvation is the gift of eternal life from God to us through Jesus Christ our Lord. It is on the basis of His shed blood that "whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16
How to be Saved?
Step 1- Recognize and accept that God loves you!
The Bible declares: "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly" John 10:10.
Giving you abundant life required the supreme sacrifice: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" John 3:16.
Many times we feel lonely and forsaken even by our families, husbands, or wives. People may let us down, and the thought can run through our minds that nobody loves us, nobody cares. I have some good news for you. God loves you, and He cares for you. He sent His love to you in His Son, Jesus Christ.
God desires fellowship and companionship with you. What a wonderful gift the Father has given, yet if God gave His own Son to provide an abundant and everlasting life, why don’t more people have what He has designed for us to receive? It is a question answered by this sobering realization.
Step 2- Realize and consent that you are a sinner.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus." (Romans 3:23-24 NKJV)
We sin when we do wrong things or when we don't do the things we ought to do. Most people feel that they are not sinners but rather good. Many think that good deeds, good lifestyle, and good intentions make them good. Some are even members of church and give to support its projects, but in the sight of God, they fall short of His perfection.
Step 3- Know the consequences of sin.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23 NKJV)
The Bible teaches that the penalty of sin is total and eternal separation from God in hell. This is the worst experience a person could ever have. A life without God has pain and is worse than you could ever imagine.
Step 4- Realize you CAN NOT save yourself.
"But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; ..." Isaiah 64:6
"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, ..." Titus 3:5
Step 5- Accept God's love to redeem you.
"For the Son of Man has come to seek and save that which was lost." Luke 19:10
Jesus Christ, His Son, is the only way to God. Only He can reconcile us to God the Father. Mankind may seek other solutions and worship other gods, but Jesus Christ, alone, died on the Cross for our sins and rose in triumph over the grave and eternal death. He paid the penalty for our sin and bridged the gap between God and mankind.
The Bible explains: "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" Romans 5:8.
We are also told, "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God" 1 Peter 3:18.
There is only one way provided: "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" 1 Timothy 2:5.
For in John 14:6 we read, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
God Almighty has provided the only way. Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sin and rebellion against God by dying on the cross, shedding His blood, and rising from the dead to justify and reconcile you back to God the Father.
After death, eternal spiritual life will begin, either in heaven or in hell. Where one spends eternity is based on the decision of accepting God's atoning sacrifice in His Son, Jesus Christ, or the decision to rebel and deny His offer. Jesus paid the price for our salvation 2000 years ago.
Step 6- receive God's gift of salvation today.
You can be brought back to God, and your relationship with Him can be restored by trusting in Christ alone to save your life from destruction. What an incredible exchange: Your worst for God’s best!
This step happens by asking Jesus Christ to take away your sin and to come into your heart to be your Lord and Savior.
God’s Word is very clear: "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20).
And the Bible tells us, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved" (Romans 10:9).
Is there any good reason why you cannot receive Jesus Christ into your heart right now?
Are you willing to let go of your burdens and sins?
Are you willing to turn away and repent from your sins?
Are you willing to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior now?
At this moment you can pray the most important prayer of your life by simply saying:
Dear Lord Jesus, I come to You by faith. I am tired of trusting myself and my own abilities. I want to trust in you alone. I believe You are the Son of God. I believe You died for me on the cross and shed Your blood for my salvation. I believe You rose from the dead and ascended on high. I believe You are coming back again to earth. I realize I am a sinner, and unless you save me I am lost forever. Cleanse me now with Your precious blood. Come into my heart and save my soul right now. I give You my life. I receive you now as my Lord and Savior. I am Yours forever, and I will serve You and follow You for the rest of my days. From this moment on, I belong to You only. I no longer belong to this world, nor to the enemy of my soul. Thank you, Jesus, for saving me, and I am born again. Amen.
Praise the Lord you want to be saved!
What to do next?
1. Start reading the Bible. Read the gospel of John. Then read the New Testament. Then start in Genesis and read the whole Bible. And when you finish the whole Bible – start over again. Read your Bible everyday. Three chapters a day (about 10 minutes) will read it through in a year.
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: 1 Peter 2:2
And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. Luke 4:4
2. Start a prayer life. You say, I don't know how to pray. Just talk to God like you do anybody else. There's no use tp get pious and pomp before the Lord, He knows all about you anyway. Get a notebook and start a prayer list. Put down your friends and loved ones that need to be saved. Pray for the schools, president, leaders, the country. If you have needs, health, studies, relationship — ask God to help you. Pray about EVERYTHING. Open the door of the day (morning) with prayer and lock the night with prayer. You can not pray too much. In your day by day activities – pray. At school – pray. Relaxing – pray. Wherever and whenever – pray. Decide that prayer is going to be your life-long friend.
Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice. Psalm 55:17
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Matthew 7:7-8
3. Tell somebody about Jesus. Go tell someone when you get through reading this that you just got saved. Tell your family. Tell your friends. Tell the world! Try to find someone everyday you can tell about Jesus.
And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. Acts 5:42
4. Fellowship with other Christians. Find you a local Bible-Belieiving church. You need the fellowship of a local church. You need the leadership of a pastor. You need the teaching and preaching you can only get in the local church.
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Hebrews 10:25
