| Styles and Tricks |
| Freestyling is more stunt riding than trail riding. Many of the stunts that can be done on a snowboard can be done on a mountainboard: methods, indes, tail grabs, etc. This style requires a light manoeverable board that is flexable on landing and easy to turn. |
| Downhill or trail riding is all about getting to the bottom of the course as fast as you can, and in one piece! This requires a long stable board which is easily manoverable and very fast. This is the easier of the disciplines to get to grips with, and probably the best to start off with. |

| Tricks So, you wanna go freestyling?? Tricks are one of the hardest areas of mountain boarding to master, and so don't get your hopes to high to begin with. Start with the easy ones (such as indys) and don't move on untill you've mastered them. ALWAYS wear atleast a helmet when you are jumping off ramps because YOU WILL FALL OFF to begin with. Just remember-practice makes perfect, and freestyling takes alot of practicing!! |

| Indy Grab |
| The indy is the easiest of tricks to pull off. All you have to do is jumb and grab the front side edge of your board (as in the picture) Just remember to straighten out before landing! |

| Tail and Nose Grab |
| More difficult than the indy, the nose and tail grab involves either (suprise, suprise) grabing the nose or tail of your board. Try it on the ground while you are not moving to get the feel of how you body moves before attempting to pull off the trick. Make sure you get enough air as well to level your body off again before landing. |

| This aint the best picture of a method, but it gives you an idea of what to do. The idea is to lift your board up so it is level with your butt and the grab it backside. This is possably one of the most difficult tricks to do as thee is so much movement of the board and body. Remember GET ALOT OF AIR BEFORE PULLING THIS TRICK OFF, 'cause you'll need it to land!! |
