Chapter Two
She watched as the young man made his way slowly over to her table and sighed. Another guy looking for small talk and a quick lay, nothing new to her. This club seemed to be the one place she could go and get hit on guaranteed. Of course this is not why she came here, the music was great and every once in a while she met a decent person. Wasn't too often though.
"May I join you?" a voice called to out her.
She looked up to find a pair of startling blue eyes staring back down at her. He was tall, about 6'1", with spiky blonde hair. He was attractive in that pretty boy kind of way. She shrugged and he sat.
"I couldn't help but notice you while I was standing over there. You looked lonely, so I thought I'd join you." the young man smiled at her.
She raised an eyebrow and regarded him skeptically. Was this kid for real?
"Oh you did, did you?" she asked, tilting her head to the side.
"Yeah I did. I can't stand to see such a beautiful lady all alone."
"Oh please, is that the best you could do?"
"Excuse me?" he asked, apparently shocked.
"Come on, you couldn't stand to see me all alone? I've heard it before. Why don't you just get around to what you really want from me." She sighed.
"Which is?"
"Sex. Pure and simple."
"You think that's what I want?"
"Did I stutter? Look, if you think I'm easy, you've got another think coming."
"Whoa! Whoa, calm down, honey! Look, I just wanna talk, dance, maybe buy you a drink, not hop in the sack!" He stated, holding his hands up in defense.
"Oh, get me drunk and then take me to your room. . . forget it." She exclaimed and stood up and started towards the door.
What exactly had just happened here? Nick shot up out of the chair and ran over to her, grabbing her arm.
"Wait! I just. . ."
"You just what? And take your damn hand off me!"
"What the hell! I just wanted to talk to you!"
"Well, I don't want to talk to you! Now if you'll excuse me."
With that she walked out the club and into the night. Nick stood there flabbergasted. How could that have happened? He was loosing his touch for sure, he thought. He turned and looked for the girl from earlier and found her staring at him. He walked over to her.
Alecia walked into the hotel room and slumped down on the bed. What a day, and the whole club thing certainly didn't help. She wouldn't even have to be here if it wasn't for someone in her stupid apartment complex that had decided to burn the joint down. She sighed, rolled over and sat up and started getting undressed. She moved here to Orlando two years ago and in that time she'd moved from one apartment complex to another, this last one she had actually liked. It didn't matter now that it was just a pile of ashes on the ground. Luckily, her insurance had paid for her three month stay at this hotel while the complex was being rebuilt. She got her clothes and hurried into the bathroom to take a shower.
Nick looked at the sleeping woman next to him in his bed and a satisfied grin spread across his face. Nope, he didn't loose his touch. Apparently Joselyn (or was it Jackie?) couldn't stop telling him just how great his touch was. He chuckled as he slid out from under the covers and walked over to the window and looked out. Of course she wasn't the one he'd wanted in that bed. It still bugged him that he'd been turned down. Who the hell did she think she was anyway? No one ever turned Nick Carter down. He'd have her, before this break was over. She was his next conquest.
