Chapter Nine
"Come on in." Nick held the door open and Alecia stepped in to find the rest of the guys there.
"Hey it's ma girl!" AJ grinned and winked.
Alecia smiled. "Hey guys! So I take it you're here to root your band member along in this little deception. . . hmmm?"
"We don't like to think of it as deception persay...just..." Brian started.
"A tiny fib." Howie finished, crossing his arms over his chest triumphantly.
Aleica smiled and rolled her eyes. She walked over and sat next to AJ.
"Ohh she's getting close. . . well let me just put my arm around you honey!" AJ grinned, swinging his arm around her to rest on her shoulder.
"Umm. . . is he always this. . . friendly with women he barely knows?"
The four guys turned to look at her and replied as one. "Oh yeah!" Alecia laughed.
"Shhh. . .I'm getting ready to call. Hello. . . is this Michelle? Hi, it's Nick. . . Carter. You remember from dinner last night? Right. . . no, I ravaged Alecia and forced her to give me your numbers. . ." Nick smirked.
Alecia's eyes widened and she got up and smacked him in the head.
"Ouch! What. . . no, no. . . I. . . banged my foot on something!" Nick replied biting his lip.
Alecia looked at him coldly and turned to glare at the guys who were doubled over in laughter, which she quickly succumbed to.
"Yeah. . . yeah I'm here. . . no I was just kidding. . . right, well I just wanted to invite you, Kris and April since I didn't get to meet her, to lunch this afternoon."
Alecia watched, hesitantly. Would they accept?
"Ok great. . . so how about I meet you at Hillshire Park at the tables by the grandstand? Yeah I'll bring the lunch. Good. . . cool. I'll see you then. . . bye sweetie." Nick hung up and turned to look at Alecia. "All set. Now we have about twenty minutes to get there. I already have lunch ordered so I just have to pick it up and we can head down there." He explained.
"Wow, you thought of everything didn't you? Ok let's hit the road. I'll just follow you in my car."
"Ok sounds good."
"Tear it up."
"What?"
"Don't play dumb with me Nick. . . tear the number up. . . now!"
Nick sighed and ripped the paper in half and then folded it and ripped it again.
"Ok let's go. Once again guys, it's been fun. Talk to you later."
"We have to get together sometime and chill." Brian commented.
"Sounds good. See you later!" She waved and she and Nick walked out the door.
They picked up lunch and Alecia followed Nick over to the park and they got out of their cars.
"Ok, I'll be waiting over here by this tree. You come and get me when you think it's a good time." Alecia announced and started to walk away when Nick grabbed her arm and stopped her.
"I hope this works Alecia. . . I really do." He whispered.
She nodded and quickly removed her arm, walking over to the tree. Nick walked over to a bench and started to unpack the food. A short while later Michelle, Kris and April arrived.
"I wasn't expecting to hear from you, Nick. It's nice to see you again." Michelle explained.
"Yeah well, I wanted to make up for the fact of me barging in on you, Alecia and Kris at dinner last night."
"You didn't barge in, it was nice to have you there. Oh, by the way, Nick Carter, April Sanchez." Michelle introduced.
Nick took April's hand and kissed it.
"It's a pleasure Nick."
"Believe me, the pleasure's all mine." He smiled and winked.
"God you really ARE hot! Alecia was right!" April laughed.
Alecia bit her lip to keep from saying anything. Why did everyone think that she thought he was hot?
"You know, those pictures and posters really don't do you justice. I mean. . . damn!" April smirked.
"Thanks!" Nick blushed.
They all sat and ate. After a while Nick got up and walked over to the tree. "You know ladies, I have to be honest and say that I haven't been totally honest with you up to this point."
"What do you mean?" Kris asked.
"Well see, I didn't come here alone."
"Oh? Who's with you?" April asked.
Alecia stepped out from behind the tree and walked over to the table. "Umm. . . hi guys."
They all looked at her, no one said a word. Alecia sighed.
"You know, me and the guys argue a lot. We get mad at each other but then we sit down and we talk about it. Nothing's worth breaking up a friendship over. . . not even me. Just listen to each other." Nick walked off, leaving them alone.
