Sensei Jose Ortiz In 1989 he was introduced to Dan Zan Ryu Jujitsu at the Amador Judo & Jujitsu Studio training under Professor Rory Rebman in Livermore CA earning his 1st degree Black Belt in 1992 and his 2nd degree Black Belt in 1999. He continued his passion for competing and has placed four times at the AJJF/AAU Nationals in the Black Belt Division. He is currently the 1999 Gold medal champion of the Nationals. He began his wrestling career in the 7th grade in 1974 and continued to wrestle not only through high school but also through three years of college, winning numerous medals, trophies, and achievement awards. His wrestling career did not stop with college though, he was the assistant coach to the California High School Grizzlies 1985-1986, assistant coach to Summerville High School’s Bears 1996-1997, and The Head Coach to the Bears from 1997 to 1999. Sensei Jose has also studied Tang Soo Do for many years. Sensei Chantilly Ortiz She is not only a student and manager of Mountain Storm Jujitsu, but is also certified in Seifukujitsu (Japanese Restorative Massage based in Traditional Chinese Medicine). She recieved her Shodan (1st degree black belt) in September 2000 and has been teaching a Jujitsu class for women since 1999. Sensei Dave Fairfield Joined our Dojo in 1998 when he retired after teaching for 35 years at Alameda High School, and with his wife, Allison, moved to Twain Harte. Sensei Fairfield began training with Proffessor Wally Jay in 1962 in a back yard Dojo. He later taught Jujitsu at Alameda High for 28 years as a PE course. Sensei has received many honors throughout his martial arts career, including induction into the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame and Teacher of the Year. He earned his 6th degree Black Belt in 1996. Not only is he skilled in Jujitsu, but he is also an Instructor of Okazaki’s Long Life Massage and Healing Arts, Sonora High School's Tennis Team 1999 coach, and is currently coaching swimming locally. Sensei Tom Lang Yodan, Instructor, has studied the martial arts for more than 25 years. He holds a 4th degree black belt in Dan Zan Ryu Jujitsu from the American Judo and Jujitsu Federation and a 2nd degree black belt in Muso Shinden Ryu Iaido (Japanese Sword Drawing) from the All-Japan Kendo Federation. He has also trained in Aikido, Filipino Kali and police arts. He was the sensei of the Kikushin Dojo at California State University, Chico for several years, and he has written many books and articles on the martial arts, including Jujitsu Techniques & Tactics and Jo: The Japanese short Staff among others. Sensei Paul Gazzanno Shodan, Instructor: Started Jujitsu at east Oakland YMCA under Sensei Gary Olson in 1963. He continued his jujitsu training with Prof. Law, Prof. Wally Jay and received his shodan from Richard Takamoto. In 1968 Sensei Gazzinno began studying Kempo Karate and Shotokan Karate.
