Multi!Wav Support Solutions - Balanced Signals

Balanced signals are transferred on 2 wires, the signal on one wire being an exact opposite of the other (thus the term BALANCED).  What is amplified is the difference between the two only. Noise and other extraneous interference introduced along the signal path, common to both signals, is rejected.  The result is lower noise.

Unbalanced (sometimes called single ended) signals are transferred on one wire only and referenced to the ground wire. This method
is much less expensive, but can result in higher noise and interference.

The PRO Analog 24 is balanced along it's entire signal path, from the input to the A to D converter, and from the D to A converter to the output. Either balanced or unbalanced inputs and outputs can be used.
