One-Time Notes for:   Multi!Wav PRO Analog 24

(April 98) It is possible that a few PRO Analog 24 cards shipped during April 1998 could have had an incorrect setting of the P5/P6 jumper block.   If this jumper block is set incorrectly, it will cause a noticeable difference in the input levels of the left and right channels (on the order of 1-3db).  In the VERY UNLIKELY event that you experience this problem, please check the jumper positions on P5/P6 against the default settings which are printed on the PRO Analog 24 circuit board next to the jumper block. When this jumper block is set correctly, the PRO Analog 24's left and right outputs will balance perfectly.

One-Time Notes for:   BitWav

(Feb 99) There is a known bug in BitWav.  You can NOT select audio devices by clicking on the combo box and type a letter.  You must use your mouse and scroll to the correct device and click on it.  Otherwise it will not get selected.  Type a letter to select devices will look like it is being selected.  However, BitWav does not select the proper device.  This is a bug in BitWav.

Some Technical Questions Answered ...

redball70d4.gif (916 bytes) My Multi!Wav card plays at 16-bit but not at 20 or 24-bit.

You may be trying to record mono 24 or 20 bit files.  For this you need to update your drivers to version 3.6 and higher.   You also need to update DriverLink to version 4.18 or higher.  Download the latest Multi!Wav Setup Diskette.

To play 24-bit files you need a PRO18, PRO24, or PRO Analog 24 card.  You also need a software application that supports 24-bit audio.

If you are using SAW plus, they have implemented a 24-bit format that is not compatible with Multi!Wav.  The Multi!Wav format, which is defined by Microsoft, has been implemented since 1996 and supported by Steinberg, SEK'D, Cakewalk, and others for years.  Currently, the implementation in SAW PRO is not compatible with Multi!Wav in 24-bit mode.  It will be necessary to wait for the SAW PRO product to be updated to support full 24-bit operation.
