1970-1971 Z-50AK2 Mini Trail

The Z50AK2 Mini Trail was released in July of 1970 so there are  K1 and K2 models sold in 1970.  The K2 shares the same basic frame as the K0 & K1 models, but it has provisions for a rear foot brake and no battery box.  The K2 also has larger, oval shaped fuel tank badges, longer front and rear fenders, metal hand brake controls and  a taller tail light braket.  The K2 model still has a liscense plate bracket, brake light, and hi-low beam headlight so it can be liscensed for street use.  The K2 model is the last Mini Trail to use a key switch.  The Z50AK2 goes back to white as contrast color and the white stripe is at the bottom of the fuel tank.
This beautifull Candy Ruby Red example is a near perfect, 0 mile bike.  I took the picture from an online auction.
A Yellow K2 strikes a similar pose. Note that it is missing the muffler guard.
This Blue K2 would have made a fine Christmas Present for me. This one is also missing the muffler guard. Damn that Grinch!
