1969-1970 Z-50AK1 Mini Trail
The Z50AK1 Mini
Trail was released in March 1969 and continued until July 1970. Most K1's are 1969 models. The K1 has the same frame as the Z50AK0 but it shares more with the Honda Monkeys for the rest of the world in that it has a keyed ignition switch, headlight, brakelight and liscense plate braket. Fenders were chromed on the K1, reflectors were added to the front forks, a headlight dimmer switch is added to the left handlebar and a short stinger is added to the end of the muffler. The hand controls were changed to black grips and black plastic levers for the K1 and K1 models are the only Mini Trails to use a battery and battery rectifier. A blue color option, was added in 1969 and silver replaced white as the contrast color.

This is a highly polished and beautifully restored Candy Blue Z50AK1.
I took the picture from an online auction. |
| Note the black plastic hand levers on this red K1 |
| This Bright Yellow K1 suffers from the familiar Mini Trail handle bar squeeze and incorrect color combinations. |
