Brazil
holidays: Where to go
Porto Seguro - Bahia (BA)- Brazil
The traveller will have the sensation to have a
beautiful day of indian in Caraíva. The passage
of the river made in a canoe, one visits to the
village pataxó and the fact not to have
electricity for there -- It doesn't mean that
light does not exist: some inns and restaurants
use solar energy -- they give an idea of as the
place approaches the tourist of the virgin nature
and as it can have a well different moment of the
one that is accustomed.
The scene also remembers a film: the streets are
of sand, surrounded for simple, but well
well-taken care of constructions.
The way most easy to arrive at the place is
making a passage of canoe (it charges a round
trip ticket of R$ 3) for the river Caraíva --
that it has red colored waters due to great
amount of iron.
The automobiles are not common in Caraíva,
except bugues lead by the indians, who use to
offer them a way of transport to the tourists.
The Atlantic bush is for all the sides. The birds
seen during the passage are not few. It is common
good, also, to sight a bird of called robbery
"gavião hunting-monkey", that, as the
proper name says, is predonor of small primates
who inhabit to the forest. The falésias, gifts
for all the Coast of the Discovery, also are part
of the scene created for the nature.
One of the roads passes for a great land of
buffalos, that occupies a plain that goes beyond
the reach of the vision. To far, it is possible
to delimit the mount Pascoal, the first land
indication sighted by the fleet of Cabral.
Relatively low (it has 536 meters of height), it
is exactly distinguished for the region to be a
great plain.
The beaches are propitious for the diving. Visit
Satu Beach, nominated thus had a native whom he
still is there (an excellent histories teller)
and Mirror Beach - Espelho beach -, a natural
reef port.
