Michael finally finds Nasedo, but keeps this hidden from Max and Isabel. This causes him a great deal of trouble later. Maria worries about Michael's growing attachment to Tess, and has a feeling that he is in great danger. Nasedo knows that Agent Pierce is in town, and shape shifts into Max to kidnap Liz in order to pull Pierce to him. In the end, the real Max is taken away by Pierce, and he ends up in a white room.
Max, Michael, and Isabelle find out that Tess is one of them and she has a book that shows them all as children and then as teenagers. Basically they are dealing with the fact that they were engineered and not really "born". This book also shows that Tess/Max are suppose to be together to procreate as well as Micheal/Isabelle. Tess takes them to the place where the incubation pods are hidden. She explains that she was the last one to be born and that she has spent the last 10 years with Nasedo moving from place to place - looking for them.
Max is torn between his love for Liz and his destiny to Tess. He doesn't tell Liz anything he found out about Tess. Isabelle and Michael think that Isabelle is pregnant from the dream they had. They don't know if that is possible so Max goes to Tess to find some answers. Tess explains their destinies and Max has a flash he and Tess making love passionately on the hood of his jeep. She says they can't get pregnant from a dream they have to do it the human way. She says Nasedo has no human emotions and not a human body which is why he can shape shift and they can't. Nasedo is here to protect the others sometimes he kills people to keep them safe.
While Max is with Tess. Nasedo/Max goes to Liz and convinces her to come with him for a little romantic getaway. When she kisses him, she gets a flash of nothingness a void, blackhole, not like anything she has ever felt with Max. She gets suspicious.
The real Max goes to the Crashdown to find Liz and Maria says she just left with him. He calls Liz on her cell and they realize what has happend. Nasedo took Liz in order to draw Agent Pierce right to them. Maria and Alex go to the sherriff and Max gets Michael and Isabelle and they head out. They pick up Tess and demand to know what is going on. She said she knows nothing about it. They take her with them.
Meanwhile, Nasedo/Max is leaving trail of mayhem and dead bodies for the FBI to find. It leads them to the a roadside Carnival. Max eventually catches up to them and there is a chase through the carnival. Liz gets away from Nasedo Max and runs into the house of mirrors. Nasedo Max follows. Real Max follows. The sherriff follows and you can imagine the confusion, now. The episode ends with Max being captured and the identity of Agent Peirce being revealed.
White Room - May 8, 2000
Max wakes to find himself in a White Room, the kind of room they isolate people in to make them crazy: no windows, no doors, and no frame of reference for space or time. Pierce, who thinks he is Nasedo, interrogates him. Max refuses to give in. The torture begins. He is strapped to a gurney and subjected to tests. They draw his blood and pump chemicals into his system to see how he will react.
Meanwhile, the rest of the crew formulates a plan to rescue Max and find Nasedo. They consider going to Valenti. Michael and Isabel decide to use their powers to find Max, with Tess' prompting.Isabel tries to communicate with Max by dream walking.
Pierce runs Max through a series of tests. Max recognizes Pierce as the deputy. Pierce is confused when he gets Max's x-ray's back and he has a complete human structure, internal organs, skeleton and muscular. The other aliens they studied did not have human structure internally. However, Max's skin cells and blood were not human. He begins to question Max about the murders that Nasedo has been responsible for over the years. Of course, Max knows nothing about them. The people murdered were all heads of the FBI special unit and were killed by heating their internal organs to 118 degrees Fahrenheit, hence the silver hand print. Max continues to deny any involvement. Pierce goes into detail about the Crash of 1947 telling him how they captured 4 aliens -- 2 dead, 2 alive. They studied the one live and the other live escaped (Nasedo). He also says that the aliens in the 40's had no language skills, which we knew because Max told Liz in "Balance" that he and Isabel couldn't speak but communicated anyway. Then Pierce pulls out the orb that Topolsky had and tells Max to make it work. He wants to know what they do and where the other one is. Max doesn't know how to make the orbs work and Pierce continues to pour chemicals into his system.
Simultaneously, the others are giving Isabel support as she tries to communicate with Max, through dream walking. Liz tells Isabel to tell him "we love him". Isabel and Liz share a moment of unprecedented bonding. The others leave the room so that Is can concentrate, and Alex stays to keep her grounded. Isabel lies in his arms and tries to contact Max. She is successful.
Max is experiencing a drug-induced sleep and Isabel gets into his head. The experience is very surreal but Isabel gets the information she needs: his location, who is holding him, and what he is experiencing. She tells Max that they love him, though she doesn't want to leave, Max makes her. Isabel wakes up screaming Max's name. The others rush in to comfort her. Alex hugs her protectively and tells them to give her a minute. She tells them that they are hurting Max. Liz crumbles. Tess springs into action. She wants to know who has him and where they are. They realize it is the old Eagle Rock Military base where Max is being kept. They go to the UFO museum to do some research. Isabel, Tess, and Michael head out to infiltrate the Base. Liz tells Michael to bring him back to her, looking pointedly at Tess. Michael tells her he will. Michael kisses Maria, possibly for the last time. They leave in search of Max.
While the others go to rescue Max at the military base. Maria, Alex and Liz go to the sheriff. Valenti is suspicious after seeing 'two' Maxs at the Carnival so he knows something is up. Michael and Nasedo pair up disguised as FBI agents, changing their fingerprints to go through security scanners and look for Max. Nasedo gives Michael some more information about his powers and what he is capable of and he tells Michael that his powers are not "alien" powers they are highly evolved human powers and that Michael is human, and he (Nasedo) is not.
Max still refuses to give Pierce any information until Pierce shows Max a picture of Liz lying dead in the street, after being hit by a truck. Max looses it. Pierce tells him that it is only a possibility and that he still has a chance to save her by telling him the information he wants. Max gives the information he has but its not enough. Pierce calls in the surgeons. Max questions Pierces humanity.
Isabel and Tess use mind-controlling powers to make Pierce see things that aren't really there. While Michael and Nasedo bust through the wall to the WHITE ROOM. The combined efforts
equal freedom for Max. Nasedo stays behind as the kids escape, Pierce in hot pursuit. As Pierce draws his gun to shoot Max and Michael, Valenti appears and shoots Pierce in the arm forcing him
to drop his gun. Tess, Isabel and Max, carried by Michael and Valenti meet the others at Max's jeep and Valenti's cruiser. Max goes right to Liz. Their reunion is not lost on Tess. The episode ends with Liz saying, "Thank God, you're safe" and Valenti says, "We are far from safe...".
RumoursSeason Finale - May 15, 2000
Supernatural deaths on the Indian reservation lead Max to believe Nasedo is involved. Michael disagrees, and they argue over this. Max then realizes that Michael has been hiding information
about Nasedo. Isabel shocks Max with some startling news (perhaps the pregnancy). An unusual event leads to someone's (possibly Tess') death.
Destiny - May 15, 2000
The gang rescues Max from Pierce, and are on the run. Max decides to turn the tables and go after Pierce himself. Valenti accidentally shoots Kyle at the UFO Museum, and Max saves his life, as he did with Liz. Valenti realizes that he's been right about Max all along and learns definately that Michael and Isabel are also aliens.
Michael kills Pierce.
Realizing Max is the leader of their people, Liz decides to step out of his life and leave him to his destiny.
Added April 9, 2000
Max and Liz escape from the FBI by jumping off a cliff. They escape into an abandoned van in the woods where Max tells Liz he doesn't care what his destiny is. He makes his own decisions and he wants his destiny to be with her. He then tells her that he loves her. Liz tells him she loves him too. Sparks fly.
When the FBI finally catches up with them in the woods and chases them out, Michael and Valenti also catch up with them and Michael uses his powers to save Liz and Max from being captured.
At some point they have lost Nasedo. The others presume he is dead, but Tess informs them that he cannot be killed and that they need to get his body and the stones to cure him. Max takes the initiative to go after Pierce and get his life back. Tess and Isabel do some mind melding. During this plan, Michael kills Pierce and Valenti accidentally shoots Kyle. Max saves Kyle and Valenti is overwhelmed with gratitude.
Michael tells Maria that he loves her too much to let her get hurt and he leaves her to fulfill his destiny. He knows now that this is bigger than he ever imagined. Alex and Isabel hug, and she joins Michael. Max goes with them and grabs Liz's hand, she is not letting him go again.
They go find Nasedo's body and cure him. Nasedo shape shifts into Pierce in order to keep them safe, he will infiltrate the special unit. They use the orbs and Gene Francis (Max and Isabel's
mother) emanates with a message for her children. She tells them that they have lived before in another galaxy, another planet, and that Max was their brave leader and Isabel a warrior. They
were also sent with Max's bride, Tess and with Isabel's fiancé Max's second in command, Michael. They were all killed in the war that enslaved their planet. Their essence was cloned and combined with human DNA and they were sent to Earth to conquer their enemies, who are also on Earth (not Earthlings - another alien race that is destructive). She tells them to learn all they can
about the enemy species and come back to rescue them. She loves them and misses them. Isabel crumbles at the site of her real mother. Max comforts her.
Liz realizes that she cannot be part of this and leaves Max to his destiny. Max tries to stop her, but she loves him and she knows it is best to leave. She walks off crying, leaving the aliens behind. Max cries for her to stop and tries to go after her, but Michael stops him. The orbs not only gives them
the information they have been seeking, but also alerts the enemy species to their location. The enemy species: Howie D
