2FM, the nation's favourite monotonous music radio station, have recently announced the return of their
hugely successful 'Beat on the Street' roadshow. The show will return on a one-off trial basis next
May 1st. The venue is yet to be officially confirmed but Dame Street in Dublin is hotly tipped as the
likely spot.
'Beat on the Street' has the full backing of the Garda Siochana
who have recently made several court appearances to ensure that
the event and all actions therein retain their legal status.
Said Garda Corcoran, an outspoken supporter of 'Beat on the
Street', "There were complaints from some people about what
goes on at these things but sure they're all only hippies and dole
spongers so who cares what they say? Killjoys the lot of them,
that's all they are."
Gardai have insisted that strict 'no-cameras' and 'no-badge
numbers' policies would be enforced at the event. And if all goes
well the Gardai will be hoping the 'Beat on the Street' will visit
all major towns and indeed "anywhere young people congregate
in numbers for any reason whatsoever."
"Events like this are the real reason I became a Cop," an inside
Garda source was quoted as saying, "Where else would my
fascist tendencies be able to flourish with such wild abandon?"
