Useful Italian phrases and words :

For people who think to visit Italy some day, I have put a few Italian words and phrases that can make it easier to order a meal, since English is not spoken everywhere in Italy yet :

Dishes :

Antipasti : starters, various apetizers.

Primo piatti : First courses after antipasto; soup, pasta- or rice dishes.

Secondo piatti : Second courses after antipasto; meat or fish dishes.

Contorni : Vegetables.

Dolce : Desserts.

Meals :

Breakfast :
Prima colazione

Lunch :
Colazione / pranzo

Diner :
Cena

How to book a table :

I did not only write down what you have to say when booking a table, but sort of wrote down
the whole conversation.

Good morning. I would like to book a table for 4 for tonight.
**Buon giorno.Vorei prenotare un tavola per quattro per stasera.

At what time?
**A che ora?

At 8.30 pm
**Alle otto e mezza.

That's okay.What was your name?
**Va bene.Quale é il suo nome?
